Woman's İmage İn Yarım Ay Magazine

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti tarihinin önemli bir dönemini kapsayan ve 14 Şubat 1935 tarihinde ilk sayısı yayınlanan, son sayısı ise 1 Ekim 1940 tarihinde neşredilen ve toplamda 123 sayı çıkan Yarım Ay dergisi ele alınmıştır. Magazin dergiciliğinde gerçektende zengin bir devir olan bu yıllarda Yarım Ay dergisi de bu konuda bir misyon yürütmeye çalışmıştır. Hemen ilk kısımda derginin şekilsel özellikleri detayları ile ele alınıp derginin yayın politikası ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Yanı sıra derginin içeriği çeşitli başlıklar halinde irdelenmiştir. Yarım Ay dergisinde kadınlarla ilgili yayınlanan yazılar ile dergideki kadın imgesi çok yönlü bir biçimde değerlendirilmiştir. Dolayısıyla bu tezle: Yarım Ay dergisinin bütüncül bir biçimde ortaya çıkarılması hedeflenmiştir. Ayrıca derginin, 123 sayısının fihristi çıkarılmıştır. Yarım Ay dergisi tarih, edebiyat, kadın, spor, magazin, moda, sinema, sanat, güncel konular ve haber değeri taşıyan çeşitli birçok konu içermektedir. Dergide haber ve makaleler dışında fotoğraf ve karikatürler de yer almıştır. Bu çalışmada, Yarım Ay'da yer alan pek çok konu üst başlıklar halinde sınıflandırılmış ve böylece derginin genel tablosu oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmanın ana kısmını oluşturan derginin kadınla ilgili algısı çeşitli yazı, reklam ve karikatürleri değerlendirerek ortaya çıkarılmaya ve böylece literatüre katkı sağlamaya çalışılmıştır.In this study, Yarım Ay (Half Moon) magazine, which covered an important period in the history of the Republic of Turkey, whose first issue was published on February 14, 1935, and last issue was published on October 1, 1940, with 123 issues in total, was discussed. In these years, which were a rich period in magazine journalism, Yarım Ay magazine tried to carry out a mission in this regard. In the first part, the formal features of the journal were discussed in detail, and the journal's publication policy was revealed. In addition, the content of the magazine was examined under various headings. The published articles about women and the image of women in Yarım Ay journal were evaluated in a multifaceted way. Therefore, with this thesis, it was aimed to reveal Yarım Ay journal in a holistic manner. In addition, the index of the 123 issues of the journal was transcribed. Yarım Ay journal included history, literature, women, sports, tabloids, fashion, cinema, art, current issues, and various newsworthy topics. In addition to news and articles, photographs and cartoons were also included in the magazine. In this study, many topics in Yarım Ay were classified under headings, and thus the general frame of the journal was formed. The perception of the journal about women, which is the main part of the study, was tried to be revealed by evaluating various articles, advertisements, and cartoons, and thus it was attempted to contribute to the literature.
