Organic Agriculture and Turkey From an Anthropological Perspective
Abstract
Since history, people have been hunter-gatherers to benefit from nutrition, without seeing food as the basis, and they have turned to agriculture for the environment from the soil without nutrition. With the emergence of the understanding of industrial agriculture in order to obtain more efficiency in a short time, pesticides were used, the structure of the soil began to be damaged and the structure of agricultural products began to deteriorate. At this point, some segments of the society have turned to 'organic agriculture' in order to access healthier food products and to ensure the protection and enrichment of life together with the natural cycle and systems. This study aims to interpret the effects of organic agriculture, which has become a lifestyle, on people's life and health from an anthropological point of view. In this study, the concepts of organic agriculture and nutrition anthropology were examined and a literature review was conducted. Findings regarding the results of the studies on the subject were obtained and these findings were tried to be explained from an anthropological point of view. In addition, the effects of organic agriculture on human life and environmental health have been interpreted from an anthropological perspective within the scope of nutritional anthropology.
