Water Consructions in Mardin

Abstract

Doktora Tezi çalışma konusu olan Mardin'deki Su Mimarisi çalışması kapsamında Mardin ili ve çevresinde bulunan çamaşırhaneler, çeşmeler, değirmenler, hamamlar ve köprüler çalışılmıştır.Bu araştırma sonunda Mardin il merkezinde, merkez köylerde ve ilçelerde toplam 74 adet su yapısı tespit edilmiştir. Bu eserlerin çoğu il merkezinde, Savur, Kızıltepe, Nusaybin ve Dargeçit ilçelerindedir. Yapıların dağılımı şöyledir. 10 Çamaşırhane, 34 çeşme, 15 değirmen, 7 hamam, 8 köprüdür.Çalışmanın ilk aşamasına, doküman ve kaynak toplamakla başlanılmıştır. Bu çerçeve de bölge ile ilgili bugüne kadar yayınlanan tüm eserlere ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Ardından tez kapsamında 2004 Ağustos ayında bölgede arazi çalışmalarına başlanılmış, bu çalışmalara 2005 Temmuz, Kasım, Şubat, 2006 Şubat, Ağustos, Kasım ve 2007 Temmuz ve Ekim aylarında devam edilmiştir. Araştırmalar sonucunda Mardin ili ve ilçelerinde tespit edilen mimari eserlerin fotoğrafları ve diaları çekilmiş ve tümünün rölöve ölçümleri alınmıştır.Elde edilen bilgiler ışığında ilk olarak Mardin'in coğrafi konumu ve tarihçesi hakkında kısaca bilgi verilmiştir. Tezin katalog bölümünde yapılar türlerine göre ayrılarak çeşitli başlıklar altında tanıtılmıştır. Değerlendirme bölümünde yapılar eldeki veriler ışığında kendi aralarında benzerleri ile ve bölgedeki diğer benzer yapılar ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuç bölümünde yapıların genel bir tarifinden ve özelliklerinden bahsedildikten sonra varılan sonuç kısaca belirtilmiştir.Mardin'deki Su Mimarisi eserlerinde en çok taş malzeme kullanılmış bunun yanında ahşap ve tuğla malzemeye de yer verilmiştir. Süslemeler taş süslemeler olup, geometrik, bitkisel, mukarnas ve yazı karakterlidir. Süslemeler daha çok çeşmelerde yoğunlaşmıştır.Yöredeki mimari eserlerde Suriye etkisinin yanı sıra yöresel özellikler de göze çarpmaktadır.Within the context of the study ?The Water Consruction in Mardin? which is a subject matter of doctorate thesis, the laundries, fountains, mills, baths and bridges are studied.At the end of this investigation, totally 74 items of water buldings were stated in the centre of Mardin, in the central villages and districts. Most of these works are in the centre of the town and the districts of Savur, Kızıltepe, Nusaybin and Dargeçit. The distribution of the buldings is in this way; ?10 laundries, 34 fauntains, 15 mills, 7 baths and 8 bridges ?.The very first stage of the study starts with collecting the documents and the sources. İn this context, it is tried to access the whole work which has been broadcasted about the region so far. Later, within the context of the thesis, on August 2004, the land labourings in the region were begun. These studies were kept on July, Novamber, February 2005, February, August, Novamber 2006 and July, October 2007. At the end of the investigations, the photographs of the architectural works and dias that are stated in Mardin and its districts have been taken and all of their statistical survey measurements have been obtained.In the light of the information obtained, info about Mardin?s geograpchial position and history are firstly given. In the index section, the buldings are divided according to their classes and they are introduced under various headings. In the evaluation part, in the light of the data available, the buldings are compared among themselves with their similars and with the other similar buildings in the region. In the conclusion part, after a general description of the buildings and features are discussed, the findings are briefly indicated.In the work ?The Water Consruction in Mardin?, rock-materials are most-widely used; Furthermore, wood and brick materials also take place. The ornamentations begin rock are of a character of geometrical, herbal, muqarnas and article. The ornamentations are rather dense on the fountains.İn the architectural works of the region, local features also stands out besides the Syrian effect.
