Abstract
This study aims to put forward the establishment philosophy, organizational structure and the scientific activities of 'the Association of French Speaking Sociologists' in view of sociological developments in France and around the world during the establishment period of the Association. It is also aimed with this study to put forward the relationship between the Association and sociological thought and organizations in Turkey. The International Association of French Speaking Sociologists (AISLF-Association Internationale des Sociologues de Langue Francaise) is today an important sociological forum with numerous members where problems such as the route of sociological thought, methodological developments, cultural pluralism, new socialities, and local and global social problems are discussed periodically in different countries around the world. One of the countries where AISLF have held meetings is Turkey. From this perspective this study puts forward the relationship between the structure and study areas of AISLF and the sociological thought in Turkey.
