The measurements were performed using the Am-241 radioisotopes as photon sources, and carried out excitation L-2 and L-3 subshells of relevant elements that were exposed to a beam of selected K X-rays from secondary sources. The values of average subshells fluorescence yield (pi(2,3)) were determined using the total L-2,L-3 X-ray production cross-section. The measured values were compared with theoretical and semi-empirical values. (c) 2012 Elsevier Ltd.
