The universe of the study consists of 237 middle school students studying in private and public schools. The scale used in the data collection phase is the Adolescent Life Style questionnaire, which was developed by Pender in 1997 and was validated and reliable in 2006 by Hendricks et al. The method of measuring the physical activities of the students participating in the study with a daily pedometer was applied. Pedometers stay on for seven working days. In order to determine body composition, fat ratios were measured with a bioelectrical impedance device, and body mass index (kg / height2) was calculated using height and weight measurements. SPSS package program was used in the analysis of the data. Kolmogorov Smirnov test was used to test normality, independent t-test for paired comparisons for normally distributed data, one-way ANOVA test when more than two variables were compared, Mann-Whitney U test for paired comparisons for non-parametric variables, Kruskal-Wallis test for comparison of more than two variables. was used. In this study, the significance level was determined as (p <0.05). While there was a statistically significant difference in weekly steps and weekday steps of female and male students according to the schools, no difference was found in the weekend steps (p> 0.05). When sub-dimensions of Adolescent Life Style were examined, no significant difference was found between sub-dimensions according to the schools that female students attended. While 8th grade male students found a difference in the physical activity sub-dimension according to the schools they attended, no significant difference was found between the other dimensions. © 2021, Ataturk Universitesi.
