Bu dönemin şairlerinden biri olan Muvakkit-zâde Muhammed Pertev hem geçmiş şairlerin hem de kendi devrindeki şairlerin etkisini şiirlerine yansıtmıştır. Şiir sanatındaki yeteneği nedeniyle hocası Neş'et tarafından kendisine 'Pertev' mahlası verilmiştir. Bu çalışmada yoğun sembolik dili, mazmunları ve söz sanatlarını barındıran Divan şiirini çözümlemek adına şerh yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Temeli Kurân-ı Kerim'in yorumlanmasına dayanan şerh geleneği, bu çalışmada edebi bir analiz aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Pertev Divanı'ndan seçilen gazellerin şerh edilmesiyle oluşturulan bu çalışmada, şairin ağırlıklı olarak aşk temasını işlediği ve bu aşk temasını dönemin sosyal yaşamına dair unsurlarla aktardığı görülmektedir. Anahtar Kelimeler: 18. yüzyıl, Divan şiiri, Gazel, Pertev, ŞerhCOMMENTARY OF SELECTED GAZELS FROM THE DIVAN OF MUVAKKİT-ZÂDE MUHAMMED PERTEV ABSTRACT The 18th century was a period when the Ottoman Empire declined politically and economically, but significant developments took place in the world of literature and art. One of the poets of this period, Muvakkit-zâde Muhammed Pertev, reflected the influence of both past poets and poets of his own era in his poetry. Due to his talent in the art of poetry, his teacher Neş'et gave him the pen name 'Pertev'. In this study, the method of commentary was used to analyze Divan poetry, which contains a dense symbolic language, meanings, and verbal arts. The tradition of commentary, based on the interpretation of the Qur'an, was used as a literary analysis tool in this study. Based on comments from selected ghazals of Pertev Divan, this study reveals that the poet mainly deals with the theme of love and conveys this theme through elements of the social life of the period.
