Bu amaçla kronik böbrek hastalığını etkileyebilecek faktörlerden olduğu düşünülen total protein (TP), kan–üre azotu (BUN), kreatinin (CREA), lenfosit (LYM) ve beyaz kan hücreleri (WBC) değerleri incelenmiştir. Çalışmada IRIS 3 evre böbrek hastalığı bulunan her iki cinsiyetten ve yaşları 6 aylık ile 7 yaş arasında, canlı ağırlıkları ise yaklaşık 2.6 kg ile 4.27 kg arasında değişen 12 adet kedi (7 erkek, 5 dişi) kullanılmış ve hayvanlar her grupta 3 adet kedi olacak şekilde 4 gruba (kontrol ve grup 1, grup 2 ve grup 3) ayrılmıştır. Kontrol grubu dışındaki gruplardaki hayvanlara sırasıyla 2,5 cc, 5 cc ve 7,5 cc MS gavaj yoluyla verildi. Çalışma 60 gün sürdürülmüştür. Çalışma sonunda MS'nin TP, BUN ve CREA değerleri üzerine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir etkisi olmadığı, ancak zamana bağlı değişimlerin önemli olduğu belirlenmiştir (TP ve BUN'da p<0.001; CREA'da p<0.05).' LYM ve WBC değerleri bakımından hem gruplar arasında hem de zamana bağlı olarak önemlilik (p<0.001) tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak çalışmada incelenen parametrelerin böbrek hastalıkları yanında diğer bazı sistemik ve metabolik hastalıklarda da önemli oldukları göz önüne alınacak olursa, maydanoz ve maydanoz ekstraktlarının böbrekler üzerine olan etkilerinin çok daha fazla sayıda, hem böbrek hastalığı olan hem de sağlıklı pet hayvan (özellikle kedi ve köpek) üzerinde, daha fazla parametre de eklenerek geniş kapsamlı klinik besleme çalışmalarıyla desteklenmesi gerektiği ve yapılan bu çalışmanın daha sonra yapılacak benzeri çalışmalara az da olsa katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different doses of parsley juice (PJ) on some renal parameters in cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD). For this purpose, total protein (TP), blood-urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (CREA), lymphocyte (LYM) and white blood cell (WBC) values, which are thought to be among the factors that may affect chronic kidney disease, were examined. In the study, 12 cats (7 males, 5 females) of both sexes with IRIS stage 3 kidney disease, aged between 6 months and 7 years, with body weights ranging from approximately 2.6 kg to 4.27 kg were used and the animals were divided into 4 groups (control and group 1, group 2 and group 3) with 3 cats in each group.The animals in the groups other than the control group were given 2.5 cc, 5 cc and 7.5 cc PS by gavage, respectively. The study was conducted for 60 days. At the end of the study, it was determined that parsley juice had no statistically significant effect on TP, BUN and CREA values, but time-dependent changes were significant (p<0.001 for TP and BUN; p<0.05 for CREA). Significance (p<0.001) was determined both between groups and depending on time in terms of LYM and WBC values. In conclusion, considering that the parameters examined in the study are important in some other systemic and metabolic diseases as well as kidney diseases, it is thought that the effects of parsley and parsley extracts on the kidneys should be supported by large-scale clinical feeding studies on a much larger number of both kidney-diseased and healthy pets (especially cats and dogs) by adding more parameters and that this study will contribute to similar studies to be conducted later.trVeteriner HekimliğiVeterinary MedicineMaster Thesis50971157
