The most significant conclusion to be drawn from these results is that the settlement of the area immediately to the east of Lake Van was much more intense than previously thought. We have further evidence of Syro-Mesopotamian interaction in the Late Chalcolithic (Amuq E-F), and a growing body of information on Early Bronze Age fortresses yielding Kura-Araxes material.
