Other Bir Oğlakta Konjenital Kolo-veziko-üretral Fistül, Atrezia Koli, Rektal Agenezis ve Atrezia Ani Olgusu(Chartered Inst. of Building Services Engineers, 2017) Yildirim, S.; Karasu, A.; Gençcelep, M.; Çakmak, G.The material of this case was a four days old male Coloured Angora Goat with congenital anomaly. The purpose of this study was to present findings of congenital colo-vesico-urethral fistula and atresia coli, rectal agenesis and atresia ani clinically, radiographically, macroscopically and histopathologically. According to the clinical examination; anus did not form, animal was dehydrated and not able to get to its feet and had abdominal tension. Besides, few amounts of unclear urine and meconium were present in preputium. By taking into consideration these findings, it was decided to make surgical operation on suspicion of fistula presence between gastrointestinal system and urinary bladder. The animal died during operation. Subsequent to necropsy, colon was swollen and observed at the cranial of pelvis ending bluntly. The blunt end of colon adhered to both urinary bladder and urethra. In order to diagnosis anomaly, samples were obtained from the region where fistulas were present. According to histopathological examination, fistula formation of colon separately to both urethra and urinary bladder was observed. Observing congenital of colo-vesico-urethral fistula, atresia coli, rectal agenesis and atresia ani all in one only in materials rare and may present a good sample for congenital anomaly cases. © 2017, Chartered Inst. of Building Services Engineers. This species is an important economic and cultural resource for the region since it lives in Lake Van, one of the world's largest sodic lakes. It is often not possible to determine the sex of fish based on morphological characteristics. In this study, landmark-based geometric and morphometric method was preferred to identify the shape difference between male and female sexes of pearl mullet fishes species in Lake Van. A total of 100 pearl mullet fish (50 females and 50 males) were used as material. Significant morphological differences were found between the male and female sexes (P<0.001 in canonical analysis of variance). These differences were found that the male fishes were longer than the female fishes on the lateral side and the head of the male fishes were larger than the female fishes. In addition, female fishes formed a deeper abdominal line towards the ventral side in the wireframe graph. The presence of a large gill positioned cranially is another important feature that distinguishes female fishes from male fishes. Lateral and ventral body differences between the sexes were statistically determined by ANOVA test results. © 2023, Central Fisheries Research Inst. Eighteen Wistar albino rats were used in the study. Alcian blue (AB; pH: 2.5), periodic acid–Schiff (PAS) staining was performed to determine the microscopic structure and histochemical structure of the GI submandibular gland. The Avidin–Biotin Complex (ABC) method was used to determine the immunohistochemical reactivity of lectin. After GnRH implantation, the organs were examined and atrophies were observed in organs. In the group in which the implants were removed, it was determined that there was no atrophy; organ structures and microscopic examination were similar to the control group. At the end of the study, submandibular gland was fixed in 10 % buffered formaldehyde. In three groups, PAS and AB histochemical staining revealed similar reactions. Immunohistochemically, lectin activity was found to react positively. © 2019, Universidad de la Frontera. All rights reserved.
