Article Assessment of Landscaping Plants in Respect of Beekeeping in Van Province(Centenary University, 2017) Öztürk, F.; Erkan, C.; Ölçücü, C.; Çiriğ, N.; Özok, N.; Öğün, E.Performed in order to evaluate in terms of beekeeping of the ornamental plants used in landscaping studies in recreation areas of Van province, this study was carried out between 2013-2016. As a result of the research, identification of plants made was determined to be 163 taxa belonging to 51 families. Four of these plants were found to be endemic. The identified taxa are classified as nectar, pollen and secretion, hereby the importance of rich floristic structure in terms of beekeeping has been emphasized. © 2017, Centenary University. The study was carried out between 1993 and 2003 during field excursions. The study area is located in Eastern Anatolia region, Turkey, which is one of the richestest floristic field in the region. In addition to the apiculturally important plants, some agriculturally and horticulturally important plants are propagated in the study area. Therefore, the area is preferred by beekeeper. The biggest problem of the world in the future will be food deprivation due to rapid growing population. According to the results, 251 natural and 31 cultivated, total 282 taxa were determined to be important for apiculture. © 2010 Asian Network for Scientific Information.Article Changes in Aortic Flow Propagation Velocity Before and After Treatment in Patients With Hypertension(Yuzuncu Yil Universitesi Tip Fakultesi, 2021) Öztürk, F.Purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the aortic resistance measured by Aortic flow propagation velocity (APV) is improved or not by the treatment by comparing pre-and post-treatment APV values in patients with newly diagnosed essential hypertension. 117 patients with hypertension and 100 volunteers of similar age group without hypertension were inc luded in this study. 24-hour Holter blood pressure and APV values before and after the treatment were compared. There was a statistically significant difference in APV values before the treatment between the patient group (41.07±7.82 cm/sec) and the control group (58.75±5.19 cm/sec) (p<0.001). The statistical difference in APV values between the patient (54.35±8.28) and control groups disappeared after the treatment (p:0.822) and APV values showed a positive increase. In this study, APV values were lower in patients with hypertension compared to healthy individuals during the early periods of diagnosis, and a certain level of improvement was achieved in APV values with the hypertension treatment. © 2021, Yuzuncu Yil Universitesi Tip Fakultesi. In this study, we investigated how COVID-19 affects the P interval. Electrocardiographies (ECG) of 30 COVID-19 patients and the control group consisting of 23 healthy volunteers were examined and dispersion (Pd) of the P wave was calculated. Compared to control group mean Pd ( 40,1±6,6 vs. 49,6±11,5, p=0,006) values were significantly higher in Covid19 patients. Increased Pd was observed as an indication that COVID-19 affects the atriums. © 2022, Yuzuncu Yil Universitesi Tip Fakultesi. All rights reserved.
