Article The Effect of Doramectin, Moxidectin and Netobimin Against Natural Infections of Syphacia Muris in Rats(Elsevier Science Bv, 2000) Öge, H; Ayaz, E; Ide, T; Dalgiç, SIn this study, the effect of doramectin, moxidectin and netobimin was investigated in naturally infected Syphacia muris in rats. The natural infection was determined by the use of cellophane tape method on the perianal region and by the technique of centrifugal flotation of feces. The infected rats were divided into three treated and one control group (N = 10), Doramectin and moxidectin at the dose of 0.2 mg/kg per day and netobimin at the dose of 7.5 mg/kg per day were given in the diet for 4 days. Cellophane tape preparations were performed in all groups on 4th and 7th day after the last treatment. The rats of treated groups were necropsied on 7th day after the last treatment together with that of control group. While doramectin and netobimin were highly effective against S. muris, moxidectin was not found to be effective for eradication of S. muris; (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. For that purpose over 100 cows' faeces were tested for gastrointestinal nematodes with the saturated salt solution method. Infected cows were selected according to the McMaster criteria. To establish whether the cows were infected with gastrointestinal nematodes, their coprocultures were screened for the presence of Ostertagia, Haemonchus, Nematodirus and Trichostrongylus species. Thirty cows which had acquired nematodes naturally were allocated to three groups of 10. The cows in the first and second group were administered subcutaneous 1% doramectin and moxidectin in injectable form at 0.2 mg/kg, respectively. The third group was separated as a control. Faecal samples from animals were examined one week before the start of treatment and on days 0, 7 and 14 of treatment. One and two weeks after the treatment, the examination of faecal samples from both treated groups showed that doramectin and moxidectin were 100% effective against gastrointestinal nematode infection. In contrast, the egg numbers in the control group were variable but not lower.Article The Prevalence of Eimeria Species in Goats in Van(Tubitak Scientific & Technological Research Council Turkey, 2003) Deger, S; Gül, A; Ayaz, E; Biçek, KThis study was carried out to determine Eimeria infection in goats in nine different districts in Van province in Turkey. Faecal samples (approximately 3-5 g) were obtained from the rectums of 242 goats. The samples were examined by Sheather's sugar flotation technique and determined microscopically for the presence of oocysts. Eimeria species were identified following sporulation of faeces in a thin layer of 2.5% potassium dichromate for one or two weeks at 25 degreesC. All samples were later examined for identification of Eimeria species. Nine different species of Eimeria oocysts were detected in 73.6% of the goats. These species were E. arloingi (40.9%), E christensini (34.3%), E. alijevi (32.6%), E. pallida (31.0%), E. hirci (30.2%), E. ninakohliyakimovae (29.8%), E. jolchijevi (26.0%), E. apsheronica (5.8%), and E. punctata (0.8%). Mixed infections were widespread (66.9%). Clinical eimeriosis was not observed.Article Prevalence of Toxocara Spp. Eggs in Soil. of Public Parks in Van, Turkey(indian veterinary Journal, 2003) Ayaz, E; Yaman, M; Gul, AArticle Prevalence of Toxocara Vitulorum in Hakkari Eastern Region of Turkey(Natl veterinary Research inst, 2006) Aydin, A; Göz, Y; Yüksek, N; Ayaz, EThis study was performed between May 2004 - April 2005 to determine distribution of Toxocara vitulorum in cattle around Hakkari, eastern region of Turkey. For this purpose faecal samples obtained from cattles of different age and sex, from 13 different settlements of Hakkari were examined using Fulleborne's salty water flotation technique. Me Master egg counting system was used to find number of eggs per gram of faeces. T. vitulorum eggs were found in faecal samples from 208 out of 718 cattle (28.96%). infection rates; 34.4% in 1-6 mounth age cattle, 6.6% in 6 mounth - 1 year old cattle, 3.3% in >1 year old cattle.Article The Prevalences of Helminth Species According To Faecal Examination in Equids in Different Cities in Turkey(Scientific Technical Research Council Turkey, 2003) Gül, A; Deger, S; Ayaz, EThe faeces of 464 horses and 110 donkeys were collected and examined by the flotation, sedimentation and Baermenn-Wetzel methods in a parasitology laboratory. The examinations showed that 327 of 464 (70.5%) horses and 85 of 110 (77.3%) donkeys were infected with the following species: in horses, Strongylidae sp. 62.7%. Strongyloides westeri 5.8%, Parascaris equorum 3.2%, Anoplocephalidae sp. 2.4 %, Fasciola hepatica 0.9%, Oxyuris equi 0.6%, and Paranoplocephala mamillana 0.2%; and in donkeys; Strongylidae sp. 72.7%, Strongyloides westeri 13.6%, Parascaris equorum 2.7%, Fasciola hepatica 0.9%, Oxyuris equi 0.9% and Dicrocoelium dendriticum 0.9%.Editorial A Sero-Epiderniologic Study on Cystic Echinococcosis in Midwestern Region of Turkey(Saudi Med J, 2005) Cetinkaya, Z; Ciftci, IH; Demirel, R; Altindis, M; Ayaz, EArticle The, Seroprevalance of Toxoplasma Gondii in Sheep, Goats and Cattle Detected by Indirect Haemaglutination (Iha) Test in the Region of Van, Turkey(indian veterinary Journal, 2003) Tutuncu, M; Ayaz, E; Yaman, M; Akkan, HA
