    (int Soc Horticultural Science, 2015) Alp, S.; Karaca, Z.; Yaman, M. S.
In 1895, during the period of the Ottoman Empire, Agop Zakarian (a respected Agricultural Inspector) wrote a book called 'Rose and Its production' (Gul ve Mahsulati). The rose was described as a flower with a pleasant scent and prickles, belonging to the Verdiye family of trees or small bushes. He divided roses into ten different classes and described each class. In this manuscript, information about the classes mentioned in the book will be followed by information about rose production and the places where roses were raised.
