Conference Object Clinical and Pathological Characteristics of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Patients in Eastern Turkey: a Single-Center Study(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2018) Dogan, N. Yildirim; Erkurt, M.; Dogan, A.; Ekinci, O.; Kuku, I.; Kaya, E.Article Do Institutional Quality and Military Expenditure of G20 Countries Affect Green Investments(SAGE Publications Inc., 2023) Demirtaş, F.; Kaya, E.; Bekun, F.V.; Çitil, M.; Torusdağ, M.; Barut, A.With the increase in awareness of environmental issues, companies and governments try to review their environmental policies. One of the most important policies for protecting the environment is the use of energy sources, which cause less or no harm to the environment. In this study, we examine the effect of institutional quality and the components of this institutional quality on green investments for G-20 countries. For this purpose, we employ static panel data analysis, as a main analysis, and dynamic panel data analysis as a robustness check. According to the main findings, institutional quality positively affects green investments and military spending reduces green investments. Also, robustness checks indicate that the effect of institutional quality and military expenditure of G20 countries on green investments is robust. © The Author(s) 2023.Article Failure of Artificial Insemination of Husband's Semen in the Treatment of Male Infertility(Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1996) Aydin, S.; Inci, O.; Alagöl, B.; Hüseyin, I.; Kaya, E.; Dellaloǧlu, G.In the management of infertility, in case semen quality is found insufficient and could not be improved by medical means, handling the available spermatozoa in the most beneficial way has been aimed. Thus, artificial insemination with low quality semen has become a therapeutic alternative. In this study homologous artificial insemination has been used to treat infertility caused by oligoasthenospermia. Eighteen couples have been treated for 58 cycles by intrauterine or paracervical insemination using cervical cups. During the same period 42 cycles with timed vaginal intercourse have been assessed. Though no pregnancies could be obtained following artificial insemination, one pregnancy occurred during no-treatment cycles.Conference Object Feasibility of Exergaming for Upper Extremity Rehabilitation in People With Multiple Sclerosis(Sage Publications Ltd, 2023) Ozdogar, A. T.; Emec, M.; Kaya, E.; Karakas, H.; Dastan, S.; Kahraman, T.; Ozakbas, S.Article Feasibility of Exergaming for Upper Extremity Rehabilitation in People With Multiple Sclerosis: Prospective Clinical Trial(Springer Heidelberg, 2024) Ozdogar, A. T.; Emec, M.; Kaya, E.; Karakas, H.; Dastan, S.; Kahraman, T.; Ozakbas, S.BackgroundExergaming has been suggested as a rehabilitation method since it is more motivational for people with multiple sclerosis (MS, pwMS). However, the major disadvantage of this method is the lack of specific scenarios designed for pwMS.ObjectivesThis study aims to assess the feasibility of exergaming, which was developed for pwMS.MethodsThis unblinded prospective clinical trial was performed in the outpatient MS Clinic of Dokuz Eyl & uuml;l University Hospital. Exergaming scenarios were developed in collaboration with medical personnel consisting of physiotherapists and doctors, and computer engineers. A total of 30 participants who had definite MS diagnoses were included. The exergaming scenarios were implemented using the Microsoft Kinect. A physiotherapist applied custom-made exergames for one session. All the participants were assessed immediately after the session. The User Satisfaction Evaluation Questionnaire was used to assess the user's satisfaction with the system and exergaming.ResultsThe mean age was 41.5, the mean Expanded Disability Status Scale was 4.5 (range between 0 and 7), and the mean disease duration was 10.0 years. Twenty patients were relapsing-remitting, and 10 were secondary-progressive. The mean scores of the User Satisfaction Evaluation Questionnaire were 4.33 (SD = 0.84) for helpfulness for rehabilitation, 1.63 (SD = 1.1) for not disturbing, 4.50 (SD = 1.07) for understandability, 4.0 (SD = 0.91) for easiness to control, and 4.33 (SD = 0.84) for enjoyability.ConclusionThese results showed that our custom-made exergaming scenario could be feasible in upper extremity rehabilitation in MS. More research is needed to investigate its effectiveness in the rehabilitation of upper limbs.Article Illumination Impact on the Electrical Characteristics of Au/Sunset Yellow/N-si Hybrid Schottky Diode(Springer, 2020) Imer, A. G.; Kaya, E.; Dere, A.; Al-Sehemi, A. G.; Al-Ghamdi, A. A.; Karabulut, A.; Yakuphanoglu, F.In this study, semiconductor device applications of organic material sunset yellow (SY) (C16H10N2Na2O7S2) has been investigated. The SY thin film was grown onn-Si via spin coating method and theAu/SY/n-Si/Auheterojunction was fabricated. The basic diode parameters of device were determined by the current-voltage (I-V) and capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements at the room temperature. The values of the ideality factory (n) and barrier height (phi(b)) were evaluated as 1.15 and 0.70 eV, respectively; and series resistance (R-s) of device was found using Norde functions. The values of built in potential, donor concentration, Fermi energy level and barrier height were also estimated from the linearC(-2)-Vcurves with reverse bias room temperature and difference frequency. Furthermore,I-Vmeasurements were applied under different illuminations; some photoelectrical parameters of device were evaluated to understand the photo response properties of the device. Consequently, the results confirmed that the barrier height can be modified by interfacial SY layer, and the device can be used in optoelectronic applications such as optical sensor or photodiode.
