Cerebellar Cognitive Affective Syndrome: a Case Report

Although the role of the cerebellum on motor control has been well recognized in studies of functional neuroanatomy, the influence of the cerebellum on cognition and emotion has been neglected until recent years. In the last decades studies that have described the role of the cerebellum on cognitive functions and emotion have been published. In patients with impaired executive dysfunction and visuo-spatial cognition, personality changes, affective symptoms and linguistic difficulties due to different cerebellar lesions, this clinical entity was described as Cerebellar Cognitive Affective Syndrome. In this paper, we present a case with Cerebellar Cognitive Affective Syndrome, and with neuroradiological evidence of a chronic cerebellar lesion.

Serebellar bilişsel duygulanımsal sendrom: Bir olgu sunumu Fonksiyonel nöroanotomi çalışmalarında serebellunnun motor sistem üzerindeki rolü iyi bir şekilde ortaya konmakla birlikte, bilişsel ve duygulanımsal işlevler üzerine etkisi uzunca bir zaman ihmal edilmiştir. Son yıllardaki çalışmalar serebellumun bilişsel işlevler ve duygulanım üzerindeki rolünü ortaya koymaktadır. Serebellar lezyonlar nedeniyle bozulmuş yönetici işlevler, görsel-uzaysal algı, kişilik değişiklikleri, duygulanım belirtileri ve dil işlevleri olan hastalarda bu klinik tablo Serebellar Bilişsel Duygulanımsal Sendrom adı ile tanımlanmıştır. Bu yazıda nöroradyolojik olarak kronik serebellar lezyona ait kanıtı olan, Serebellar Bilişsel Duygulanımsal Sendromlu bir olgu tanımlanmıştır.
