Article Economic Analysis and Modeling Process of Photovoltaic Power Systems(Wydawnictwo Sigma-n O T Sp Z O O, 2011) Rustemli, Sabir; Dincer, FurkanThe importance of renewable energy sources is increasing in our world. Solar energy is the most natural, unlimited, ergonomic, environmentally friendly, useful and available everywhere source among of the renewable energy sources. The installed capacity of solar energy in electricity generation is increasing rapidly all of the countries. The most important part of photovoltaic power installed projects is cost-effective of projects for these systems installations because millions of dollars are being invested to it. This study is crucial in this respect. An example of location is determined and is designed for photovoltaic installation according to the European Commission Photovoltaic Geographical Information System for the city of Van where is the east of Turkey. Needs of the system, system equipments, design style and how it should be established are indicated and worked while considering the geographical coordinates of the location. A detailed study has been prepared taking into consideration all these data. It is a fact that such a system designing would serve as an example for all photovoltaic applications in the world.Article Measurement and Simulation of Power Factor Using Pic16f877(Wydawnictwo Sigma-n O T Sp Z O O, 2012) Rustemli, Sabir; Ates, MuhammetThe aim of the study is to develop a prototype of power factor measurement circuit. In the designed circuit, the power factor is measured using PIC16F877. This paper focuses to design the simple circuit and low-cost. The current and voltage signals of the load are measured at the same phase. Those signals are inserted into PIC16F877 by means of analog circuit. The power factor is calculated by the algorithm written on the PIC16F877. The measurement value of the power factor is displayed on the LCD screen.Article Performance Comparison of the Sun Tracking System and Fixed System in the Application of Heating and Lighting(King Fahd Univ Petroleum Minerals, 2010) Rustemli, Sabir; Dincadam, Ferit; Demirtas, MetinIn this work, a sun tracking system application is used for water heating and street lighting in Van. The solar photovoltaic system is designed for a house whose power is 5 kilo-Watts. An experimental setup is carried out for 183 Watts. An optimal variant is chosen with respect to stiffness and lightness conditions. A sun tracking device was used for rotating the solar still with the movement of the sun. A comparison between fixed and sun tracked solar stills showed that the use of sun tracking increased productivity by around 29%. It can be concluded that the sun tracking system is more effective than the fixed system and is capable of enhancing productivity.Article Research on Effects of Environmental Factors on Photovoltaic Panels and Modeling With Matlab/Simulink(Wydawnictwo Sigma-n O T Sp Z O O, 2012) Rustemli, Sabir; Dincer, Furkan; Almali, M. NuriIn the early days of photovoltaic panels, some 50 years ago, the energy required to generate a photovoltaic panel was more than the energy the panel could generate during its lifetime. As a result of many years of research and experimental studies with today this time can drop up to 3-4 years according to the incentive policies of the some countries. Only obstacle to widespread adoption of photovoltaic panels is cost of their. Therefore, even small studies on photovoltaic panel have great importance to reduce the cost of photovoltaic panel. One of the most important ones is the panel temperature and environmental effects because these factors are affected the panel temperature. In this study, environmental factors that affect to electricity generation capacity of photovoltaic panels have obtained as detailed style with modeling and simulation is designed by Matlab/Simulink programme. Also, environmental factors is added to the model and is entered the system. In addition to this situation were applied on loaded. With this modeling the effects of environmental factors for photovoltaic panels are designed and discussed as detailed by Matlab/Simulink programme.Article Ripple Reduction at Speed and Torque of Step Motors Used on a Two-Axis Robot Arm(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2010) Rustemli, Sabir; Yilmaz, Murat; Demirtas, MetinThis paper presents the control of two axis robot arm. The system is consisted of two step motors, robot arm, computer and PIC16F84A. One of them controls the robot arm via parallel port of the computer. The other one controls end element on the arm by PIC16F84A. PIC16F84A drives the motor by the designed circuit drive. Although the control of the step motor is very easy, they work choppily. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the ripples occurred at the speed and torque of the step motor. In this study, proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller is used to reduce the ripples. The obtained results show the proposed method is very successful. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
