Article The Effect of Terpal Plant Growth Regulator on Yield and Yield Components in Barley(TUBITAK, 1997) Sönmez, F.; Ege, H.; Okut, H.This research was conducted in 1987-1988 at Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ege. The aim of this research was to study the effects of Terpal plant growth regulator on yield and yield components of four barley cultivars. For this purpose. 0 and 2 It/ha dosages of Terpal plant growth regulator was applied on barley cultivars Kocaoǧlu, Tokak-157/37, Quantum and Cumhuriyet-50 in tillering (Feeks scale-4) and shooting (Feeks scale-7) stages. The path and stepwise regression analysis techniques were applied to data, to determine the causal relations and traits that are more effective to explain on changes of variation grain yield. In conclusion from both path and stepwise regression analysis that the number of spike per m2 among all yield components is most effective factor on the variation in grain yield of barley cultivars.Article The Effects of Applications Humic Acids on Macronutrient, Micronutrient, Heavy Metal and Soil Properties(Centenary University, 2019) Sönmez, F.; Alp, Ş.This study was conducted on the YYU campus area as a field survey, according to the randomized block experimental design carried out in three replicated. The yellow and orange marigold species with humic acids (HA0;0 kg HA da-1, HA1;10 kg HA da-1, HA2;20 kg HA da-1, HA3;40 kg HA da-1) were used. At the end of the experiment, the soil samples taken from the field of study were analyzed organic matter, soil reactions, total salt content, lime content, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, natrium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel and lead contents. The increased humic acid applications have influenced pH (P<0.01), lime (P<0.01), organic matter (P<0.05) with phosphorus (P<0.01), iron (P<0.05), zinc (P<0.05) and nickel (P<0.01) contents. The effect variety (V) has been determined on the available of soil iron (P<0.01), zinc (P<0.01), cadmium (P<0.01), nickel (P<0.01), and lead (P<0.01) contents. The interaction of only affected the nickel (P<0.01) and zinc (P<0.01) contents. As a result, humic acid applications have an important and positive effect on many properties of soil. © 2019, Centenary University. This study aimed to investigate the effects of Glomus intraradices Schenk and Smith (Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungus = AMF) inoculation and Phosphorous (P) and Nitrogen (N) fertilizations on the some plant characteristics and nutrient content of soybean (Glycine max L. Amsoy-71). At the end of the study, while there were significant effects of inoculation on the plant height, the fresh and dry weights of shoots and phosphorous, potassium, calcium, zinc and copper contents in shoots, there was no significant effect on the nitrogen, magnesium, iron and manganese contents in shoots. Inoculation decreased the contents of magnesium and copper. Increasing doses of phosphorous and nitrogen applications significantly increased the plant height, the fresh and dry weight in shoots and the contents of nitrogen, phosphorous, iron, manganese and copper. © 2006 Asian Network for Scientific Information.Article An Ottoman Scholar and Statesmen: Ahizade Abdulhalim Efendi and His Poems(Abidin Temizer, 2022) Sönmez, F.Diwan literature is a literature built by high class society, and where artistic concerns are prioritized. In general, the personalities from the Ottoman court and its neighbourhood made up its representatives, they were highly educated and cultured people. Hence, majority of the divan literature poets were of people coming from professions such as kadi (Muslim Judge), mudarris (Professor), Kâtip (Secretary), hacegân, defterdar (receiver general) and kadi-ul asker (judge of the army), who were performing duty in big settlement centres of Ottoman State. Ahîzâde Abdulhalîm Efendi, who lived in the second half of XVI century, when Divan literature was close to zenith, is also one of those poets of scholar origin. Besides his responsibilities such as kadi, kadi-ul asker and mudarris, he was a scholar who produced a great number of works. Though no diwan belonging to Ahîzâde Abdulhalîm Efendi was found out, his poem samples with the pen name “Halîmî” are presented in all resources of the period especially in collections of biographies. In this study, initially, information about his life, personality and works of Ahîzâde Abdulhalîm Efendi has been given. And, after his work Şevâhidü’n-nübüvve Tercümesi (The Translation of the Witnesses of Prophethood) was first investigated together with the literature, history and culture resources of the time, the poems that are identified to be his were studied. The poems were studied from various perspectives; and the classifications made about some subjects were shown in tables. © 2022, Abidin Temizer. In this research, heading duration, the number of spikes per m2, grain filling period, the number of grain per spike, grain weight, and grain yield were studied. Direct and indirect effects of the yield components (the number of spikes per m2. the number of grain per spike, and grain weight) on grain yield were found by Path coefficient analysis. Direct and indirect effects of other characteristics on these components were also determined. The direct effects, obtained in the Path coefficient analysis, indicated that grain yield depended mainly upon spike number per m2 and secondly upon the grain number per spike. Grain weight showed less influence. On the other hand, duration had a highly negative influence on the grain filling period. At theend of the research, it has been found possible to increase grain yield when spike number per m2 used as a selection criterion in Tir wheat.
