Article The Effect of 8 Week Resistance Exercise on Some Anthropometric Measurements and Body Composition To Sedentary Women(Natl Olympic Committee Ukraine, Kharkov Regional Branch, 2019) Turgut, M.; Bagir, S.; Sarikaya, M.; Tinaz, U.Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of resistance exercise program applied to eight weeks on some anthropometric measurements and body composition in sedentary women. Material: Fifteen volunteer women with a mean age of 20.67 +/- 1.29 years were included in the study. After asking the participants whether there are any health problems before the exercise program, detailed information was given and the exercises were implemented correctly and efficiently. Participants were given a 45-minute resistance exercise for 3 days a week. In order to compare the data obtained (Wilcoxon Test) was applied to compare descriptive statistics with pre- and post-exercise values via using SPSS 22.0. Before and after the exercise program (Weight, Hip circumference, calf circumference, chest circumference, waist circumference, shoulder circumference and BMI) were measured. Results: According to the findings of the study, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the anthropometric measurement and body composition values of the exercise program applied before and after the exercise program of the participating women (p > 0.05). Conclusions: In conclusion, the effects of regularly performed exercises, especially aerobic and resistance exercises done for women, on persons are seen in the literature and research essays. Deterioration in the body composition of women is seen depending on age and excessive weight.Article The Effect of 8 Week Resistance Exercises on Blood Lipids and Blood Sugar Levels in Sedentary Women(South Ural State Univ, Scientific Research dept, 2019) Turgut, M.; Bagir, S.; Bozkus, T.; Talaghir, L. G.; Sarikaya, M.Aim. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of an eight-week resistance exercise program on blood fats and blood sugar in sedentary women. The study included 20 volunteers with a mean age of 31.70 +/- 3.81 years. Materials and methods. Blood samples were taken by the experts in the appropriate laboratory environment in the morning before and after the resistance exercise program, which was administered 60 minutes 3 days a week for 8 weeks in the mornings on an empty stomach. Dependent groups t-test (Paired Sample T-Test) was applied to compare descriptive statistics with pre- and post-exercise values by using SPSS 22.0 package program. Results. There was a significant difference between GLU, Triglyceride, HDL, LDL, and total cholesterol levels before and after the resistance exercise program (p > 0.05). Conclusions. Resistance exercises have a positive effect on blood sugar and blood fat change. Therefore, we think that it can be used as protection from cardiovascular diseases, and if these exercises are applied regularly, they will have many positive results in terms of health.Article The Effects of the Zinc Supplementation and Weight Trainings on the Testosterone Levels(South Ural State University - Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service, 2017) Çınar, V.; Talaghir, L.G.; Akbulut, T.; Turgut, M.; Sarıkaya, M.Aim. The purpose of this study, it has been aimed to examine the effects of zinc supplementation applied with weight trainings on the testosterone levels in sedentary individuals and athletes. Materials and Methods. As methods of work it was selected 40 male, 20 sedentary male and 20 male who do physical exercises regularly, participated in the study. The participants are divided equally into 4 groups. The groups are constituted in that way: 1st Group: Control Group (S), 2nd Group: Sedentary Group which is supplied with Zinc (Z), 3rd Group: Training Group which is supplied with Zinc (ZT) and 4th Group: Athletes' Group who performs the weight training (T). The total testosterone and free testosterone values of the participants were measured from the blood samples which were drawn from the participants at the beginning and at the end of the 6-week training period. Results. Like results, has been asserted that the total and free testosterone values of the groups which are supplied with Zinc and perform weight training have increased depending on training and supplementation. Conclusion. In conclusion consequently it has been determined that 6-week zinc supplementation and weight training increase the testosterone levels.
