Bayhaqi and His Work Named Tatimatu Sivan Al-Hikma
Abstract
Tetimmet-ü Sıvâni'l-Hikme isimli eser 12. yüzyılda Zahirüddin el-Beyhakî tarafından, Ebû Süleyman es-Sicistanî'nin Sıvânü'l-Hikme adlı eserine tetimme (tamamlayıcı) olarak 1158?1169 yılları arasında Horasan bölgesinin Beyhak kasabasında kaleme alınmıştır.Beyhakî, 1106?1169 yılları arasında Beyhak ve civar şehirlerde yaşamıştır. Bölgenin önemli âlimlerinden ders alarak kendini çok iyi yetiştiren müellif, dönemin önemli âlimleri arasına girmiştir. Tarih, biyografi, tıp, felsefe, matematik vb. bilim dallarında 80 civarında eser kaleme almıştır. Fakat bu eserlerin çoğu günümüze ulaşamamıştır.Beyhakî, Tetimme'sinde Sıvânü'l-Hikme'de olmayan, gerek kendinden önceki gerekse muasırı olan yüzonbir bilim adamının hayatları, eserleri ve görüşlerine yer vermektedir. Bu yönüyle eser Sıvânü'l-Hikme'nin tamamlayıcısı olma bakımından bir boşluğu doldurmaktadır. Tetimmet-ü Sıvâni'l-Hikme Ortaçağ bilim ve felsefe tarihi açısından önemli bir kaynaktır.
The written work, called Tetimmet-ü Sıvâni?l-Hikme, was written in the town Beyhak in the region of Horasan between the years of 1158 and 1169. And also ıt was written in the twelfth century by Zahirûddin el-Beyhaki by being completed to Ebû Süleyman?s written work, Sıvânü?l- Hikme.Beyhakî lived in Beyhak and near other cities between 1106 and 1169. Beyhak, taught by important scholars in that area and educated himself very well, had been one of the most important scholars. He wrote nearly eighty written works in the subjects of History, Biograpy, Medicine, Philosopy and Maths. But most of that writen work haven?t reached these days.Beyhakî, not in Tetimmet-ü Sivâni?l-Hikme, told the lives, the written works, and the thoughts of both one hundred eleven scientists in the period of his time and the scientists before the period of his time. When we looked at the written work from this point of view, it completed Sivânü?l- Hikme. Tetimme is the source of the Science of Middle Age and the History of Philosophy.
