Reflection of World War Two in the Newspaper Le Figaro
Abstract

Le Figaro was printed in 5 pages until the Germans invaded France. During the war, its printing was reduced to one page due to the paper problem. Events were chronicled in the Daladier and Reynaud periods. The censorship applied to the newspaper is mostly for the news in domestic politics. After France was occupied by Germany, the German-led Vichy Government was established. Le Figaro, which was published in the Vichy Period, was exposed to German pressure as well as censorship. After France was liberated from the German occupation, it was shaped according to Guallism, which was called a new era in Le Figaro during the De Gaulle period.
