Abstract
Due to chewing, brushing and parafunctional habits, there is often an increase in wear and roughness on the surface of restorative materials. The changes that have occurred are directly related to the survive of the restorations. The aim of this study is to evaluate the wear amount and surface roughness of CAD/CAM Ceramics with different chemical contents after five years of brushing. In this study, CAD/CAM feldspatik ceramic block Vita Mark II, zirconium reinforced lithium silicate CAD/CAM block Vita Suprinty, polymer-infiltrated CAD/CAM hybrid ceramic Vita Enamic and CAD/CAM resin nano ceramic Brilliant Crios were used. Ceramic blocks were cut) 2 mm thickness. Vita Mark II, Vita Suprinity ve Vita Enamic samples were glaze application accordance to the manufacturer's recommendations. Brilliant Crios samples were polished accordance to the manufacturer's recommendations The samples were placed in a computer-controlled tooth brushing simulator by adjusting the back-and-forth movement, movement distance 20 mm, frequency 1.25 and force 3 N. 36500 cycles were applied to simulate 5-year tooth brushing. In the 1st, 3rd and 5th years of the samples, surface roughness was measured using 2D contact profilometer and 3D optical profilometer , and wearing rate was measured using Precision Balance. A statistically significant difference was found between Vita Suprinity samples and Vita Enamic and Brilliant Crios samples in terms of wearing rate (p<0.05). Surface wear results, from lowest to highest, were Vita suprinity Vita Mark II , Vita Enamic and Brilliant Crios. While the lowest wear was obtained at the end of the 1st year, the highest wear was obtained at the end of the 5th year brushing. The surface roughness results of CAD/CAM materials were found to be Vita Suprinity, Vita Mark II , Vita Enamic and Brillant Crios from lowest to highest. While there was no statistically significant difference between 1.years and 5. years(p>0.05), there was a difference between the others(p<0.05). The highest roughness was obtained at the end of 1 year, while the lowest was obtained at the end of 3 years of brushing. According to the conclusion of the study the surface roughness of the samples applied with Glaze increases at the end of the year, it decreased at the end of the 3rd year and increased at the end of the 5th year. The surface roughness of the polished samples increased over time. Surface abrasion is higher in the samples applied to the glaze than in the samples applied to the polishing. While Vita Suprinity is seen as the best material in terms of surface roughness; It is the Crios material with the most roughness. The least worn material is the Vita Suprinity CAD/CAM block.
