Article Analysis of Location According To Suitable Criteria for Earthquake Park in Van/Turkiye City Scale(Urban Creativity, 2023) Baskın, A.; Aşur, F.Title - Analysis of the earthquake park according to the appropriate criteria After disasters, it’s critical to attend to people’s basic requirements. In addition to serving the city’s recreational requirements on a regular basis, open green spaces in cities can be crucial in providing for residents’ basic needs, particularly during emergencies like earthquakes. Site selection is crucial in this situation to prevent earthquake parks from becoming a secondary threat in the event of a disaster. The study aims to determine the parks that can be earthquake parks in Van’s/Turkiye İpekyolu, Tusba and Edremit districts and to choose the most suitable area. The AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency)-designated emergency assembly, evacuation, and shelter areas as well as additional parks that satisfy the required requirements were discussed in these districts. These areas were evaluated with the integrated study of MCDM (Multi-Criteria Decision Making) Methodologies AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solutions) methods in site selection for the earthquake park. The top factors to consider when choosing an earthquake park’s location were chosen. The power of each area was graded using these standards. For the creation of an earthquake park in Van, a total of six ideal alternative park locations, two in each district, were identified. Atatürk Park, located in İpekyolu Neighborhood, has been suggested as the most suitable park to be converted into an earthquake park, with its justifications. In future studies on earthquake-oriented urban planning, the method used for site selection of earthquake parks is believed to offer substantial benefits to the relevant stakeholders. © 2023, Urban Creativity. In the study, evaluation analyses were made of 14 known natural recreational camping areas in the coastal areas of the Lake Van Basin, which is one of the important open natural recreational areas in Turkiye. 23 evaluation criteria were selected for landscape character determination and criterion weight values were calculated using AHP, and by applying the TOPSIS method using these weight values, the most suitable recreational camping area for camping among 14 areas was determined as the pilot area. Solution suggestions and sample designs that can rehabilitate this camping area have been created, aiming to be an example for other camping areas and a basis for scientific studies. © 2024, Scibulcom Ltd. Courtyard gardens have been an element of these cultural activities. These spaces also create a cool environment during the hot summer seasons. Wind, has been an important factor affecting building design since ancient times. The effects of wind on buildings and reduction of energy consumption in terms of is important to demonstrate this effect through experiments. In this context, determining the location, orientation, building height, courtyard area, used materials and courtyard type of the courtyards of the buildings can create a new data for the designer and the implementer. The attention paid to the reconstructing of historical building designs in order to carry historical values into the future is the mainstay of this study. In this study the given information about the general characteristics the courtyard gardens built in different periods. In addition, within the content of the study, general information about too the preferred plant species for each period in the design of courtyard gardens is included. Thus, the reflections of past designs on modern designs of today were considered and evaluated from the point of view of landscape architecture. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2021 All rights reserved.Book Part Ritual Landscape From the Perspective of Landscape Tourism(Peter Lang Publishing Group, 2023) Aşur, F.; Akpinar Külekçi, E.The concept of “ritual landscaping,” which originated in British archaeology in the early 1980s, is separated from more traditional monuments and sit research on classification, dating, and political sites. Ritual landscaping as an objective-mental phenomenon is nature’s desire, and their beliefs are suited to where they are included in traditions and rituals. Ritual landscaping as a landscape phenomenon has permeated history and people over time and remained in people’s minds as a predetermined principle. The ritual describes a societal phenomenon expressed from the past to the present, through transplantation, verbally and hands- on, and through standard rhythmic movements and symbolic language that persists through social engagement. The necessity to make meaningful and desecrate vital elements to understand and represent the world and its phenomena is among the grounds for the formation of rituals and ritual landscapes to ensure cultural and identity stability. In order to demonstrate the dimensions of ritual landscapes in the landscape tourism approach in this study, previous studies in the relevant field were examined under the headlines “landscape tourism,” “Ritual Landscapes,” “social needs of cultural- ritual spaces” and “Ritual Tourism.” Although there have been various studies on landscape and tourism relations, ritual landscapes, social needs of cultural- ritual spaces and ritual tourism in the eastern and western worlds, there are not many current studies on “Ritual Landscape” and “Ritual Tourism” in particular. © 2023 Peter Lang GmbH, Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften.Book Part Scrutiny of Street Landscapes From the Perspectıve of Sustainable Planning and Design Approaches(Peter Lang Publishing Group, 2023) Külekçi, E.A.; Aşur, F.Transport, is one of the people’s basic needs, through land, sea, and air provided. The most common of these is road transportation. Highways, urban space As it shapes, it also determines the direction of cities’ development. Inland roads are the first related to that city impressions are important areas that reflect the quality of urban space. Highways in modern- day conditions are supported by herbal designs in terms of safety, traffic control, and aesthetic perception. Especially big While cities demonstrate the necessary sensitivity to this issue, in small and medium- sized cities these theories are in practice can’t find enough space. Street landscapes are one of the landscape design works that should be considered at every stage of transportation. In this study, made in this context, the issues to be considered in the landscaping of the roads are discussed in the example of different street landscapes. In particular, the points to be considered in the planting of these areas are interpreted with different examples. As a result of the study, different studies were examined and suggestions were made about the importance of street landscape design and what should be considered while designing. © 2023 Peter Lang GmbH, Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften.Article Visual Landscape Quality Assessment in the Example of Van Yüzüncü Yil University-Ferit Melen Airport Highway Route(Ege Universitesi, 2022) Yuca, N.; Aşur, F.Objevtive: In the study, it was aimed to determine the visual landscape quality of the images representing different landscapes along the Van Yüzüncü Yil University-Ferit Melen Airport highway and to form a base for the highway landscape planning. Material and method: The study conducted literature screening, road route analysis, data supply, route photograply, visual landscape quality evaluation parameters, photo-survey preparation and analysis of survey results. The SPSS 20.0 statical program was used to determine the results of the survey. The Likert scale provides aritmetic averages to determine the likes level with questions asked to give a value 1 and 5. Results: Although the results from the survey assessments applied to academician and student groups vary from both groups, visual landscape preferences have generaly shown a similar orientation. Conclusion: In the study, it was found that the landscape value of a highway is equally good in the event that the visual landscape structure of a highway is beatiful, diverse, satisfying, tidy, open and reliable. © 2022 Agriculture Faculty of Ege University
