Article Synthesis, Characterization, and Thermal Investigation of Copper(Ii), Nickel(Ii), Cobalt(Ii), and Zinc(Ii) Complexes With 5-Benzoyl(Marcel dekker inc, 2003) Sönmez, M; Sekerci, MCu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Zn(II) complexes of 5-benzoyl-1-(phenylmethylenamino)-4-phenyl-1H-pyrimidine-2-thione were prepared. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, NMR and UV-Vis spectra. Spectral studies, magnetic moment and molar conductivity measurements were performed on these compounds. All of the complexes are non-electrolytes. The metal complexes are proposed to have an octahedral Structure. Thermal Studies of the complexes are also reported.Article A New Heterocyclic Schiff Base and Its Metal Complexes(Marcel dekker inc, 2004) Sönmez, M; Sekerci, MCu(II), Co(H), Ni(II), and Zn(II) metal complexes of a new SNO tridentate heterocyclic Schiff base derived from the reaction of 1-amino-5benzoyl-4-phenyl-IH-pyfimidine-2-thione with salicylaldehyde have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, electronic, IR, and H-1 NMR spectra, and also by molar conductivity measurements, magnetic moment measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). It has been found that the Schiff base behaves as a neutral tridentate SNO ligand forming chelates with I : 2 or I : I (metal: ligand) stoichiometry. The complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) are proposed to have an octahedral structure, while the Cu(II) complex is suggested to have a square-pyramidal geometry. All of the complexes show nonelectrolytic behavior.Article Synthesis, Characterization, and Thermal Investigation of Some Metal Complexes Containing Polydentate Ono-Donor Heterocyclic Schiff Base Ligand(Maik Nauka/interperiodica, 2004) Sönmez, M; Levent, A; Sekerci, MCu(II), Co(II), Ni(H), and Zn(II) metal complexes with new heterocyclic Schiff base derived from 1-amino-5-benzoyl-4-phenyl-IH-pyrimidine-2-one and 3-methoxysalicylaidehyde have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, electronic IR, and H-1 NMR spectra, and also by aid of molar conductivity measurements, maenetic moment measurements, and thermogravinietric analyses. It has been found that the Schiff base behaves as a neutral bidentate (NO) and tridentate (ONO) ligand forming chelates with 1 : 2 (metal : ligand) stoichiometry. Octahedral configuration is suggested for metal complexes. The conductivity data for the Ni(II) complexes are consistent with those expected for a 1 : 2 electrolyte.Article Synthesis and Characterization of Cu(Ii), Co(Ii), Ni(Ii), and Zn(Ii) Complexes of a Schiff Base Derived From 1-Amino and 3-Hydroxysalicylaldehyde(Taylor & Francis inc, 2003) Sönmez, M; Levent, A; Sekerci, MCu(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal complexes of a new beterocylic Schiff base derived from 1-amino-5-benzoyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrimidine-2-one with 3-hydroxy-salicylaidehyde have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, electronic, IR and H-1 NMR spectra, molar conductivity measurements, magnetic moment measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). It has been found that the Schiff base behaves as a neutral bidentate (NO) or tridentate (ONO) ligand forming chelates with 1:2 (metal:ligand) stoichiometry and octahedral geometry. The conductivity data for the Ni(II) complex is consistent with that expected for a weak electrolyte.Article Synthesis and Characterization of Cu(Ii), Co(Ii), Ni(Ii) and Zn(11) Schiff Base Complexes From 1-Amino With Salicylaldehyde(Polish Chemical Society, 2002) Sönmez, M; Sekerci, MCu(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal complexes of new heterocyclic Schiff base derived from 1-amino-5-benzoyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrimidine-2-one with salicylaldehyde have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, mass, electronic, IR and H-1 NMR spectra, and also by molar conductivity measurements, magnetic moment measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA). It has been found that the Schiff bases behave as a neutral bidentate (NO) and tridentate (ONO) ligands forming chelates with 1:2 (metal:ligand) stoichiometry. Octahedral environment is suggested for metal complexes. The conductivity data for the Ni(II) complexes are consistent with those expected for an electrolyte.Article The Template Synthesis, Characterization, and Thermal Investigation of New Heterocyclic Binucleating Schiff Base Complexes(Taylor & Francis inc, 2004) Sönmez, M; Sekerci, M1-Amino-5-benzoyl-4-phenyl-1H-pyrimidine-2-one (L'H-2) reacts with benzil (L"O-2) and salts Cu(AcO)(2) . H2O, NiCl2 . 6H(2)O, CO(ACO)(2) . 4H(2)O, CdCl2 . 2H(2)O in 2: 1 : 2 molar ratio in n-butanol to give several solid complexes of the general composition [(M)(2)(L')(2)(L")(X)(4)] . nH(2)O. The precursor and the metal complexes of the Schiff base have been characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductances, IR spectra, electronic, and thermal studies.
