Measurements of Coster-Kronig Enhancement Factors for 69tm
(Elsevier Science Bv, 2011) Yilmaz, Rafet; Arici, Kani; Oz, Elif; Tan, Mustafa
Coster-Kronig processes are non-radiative transitions in which an inner-shell vacancy is transferred from one subshell of an atom to another. In this work, X-ray fluorescence cross-sections (sigma(Li), i = alpha, beta, & gamma, ) of the Tm element were measured at excitation energies of each L-i (i = 1, 2 and 3) subshells. Experimental measurements have been performed using an (24) Am annular source and a Si(Li) dedector. Absolute values of L X-ray cross-sections were calculated with incorporation of the enhancement due to the Coster-Kronig effect for Tm. The measured enhancement factors are smaller than the theoretically calculated values. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Measurements of L2,3 Subshells X-Ray Production Cross-Sections and Average L2,3 Subshells Fluorescence Yield Values of Some Elements in the Atomic Number Range 70 ≤ Z ≤ 78
(Pergamon-elsevier Science Ltd, 2012) Yilmaz, Rafet
L-2,L-3 X-ray production cross-sections (sigma(x)(Lj): j = l, alpha, beta and gamma) were measured for 4 elements in the atomic range 70 <= Z <= 78. The measurements were performed using the Am-241 radioisotopes as photon sources, and carried out excitation L-2 and L-3 subshells of relevant elements that were exposed to a beam of selected K X-rays from secondary sources. The values of average subshells fluorescence yield (pi(2,3)) were determined using the total L-2,L-3 X-ray production cross-section. The measured values were compared with theoretical and semi-empirical values. (c) 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
