Abstract

Masseter hypertrophy is an uncommon condition that can cause aesthetic and functional problems. Various treatment options were suggested by authors. We used surgical intraoral approaches in 5 patients, which consist of masseter muscle reduction and mono-cortical ostectomy in the angle of the mandible. Results showed good aesthetic results without any complication. We suggest the use of surgical treatment to gain optimal aesthetic results especially in a square face.
