Literary aspect Şükrî-i Bitlisî's Selim-Name

Abstract

Edebi eserler, bir milletin geçmişle geleceği arasında köprü görevi gören önemli kültürel varlıklarındandır. Yazıldıkları dönemin sosyal, siyasi ve kültürel ortamını yansıtırlar. Çalışma konumuz olan Şükrî-i Bitlisî'nin yazmış olduğu 'Selim-nâme' adlı eser 15 ve 16. yüzyıl Osmanlısının sosyal, kültürel ve siyasi özelliklerini yansıtan bir eserdir. Osmanlı hükümdarlarından Yavuz Sultan Selîm'in şehzadeliği dönemindeki seferleri, tahta çıkışı; İran, Mısır ve Anadolu'nun değişik yerlerine yaptığı seferler Selim-nâme'de edebi bir dille anlatılır. Mesnevi biçiminde kaleme alınan eser klasik Türk Şiirinin mersiye, kaside ve gazel tarzında yazılmış şiir örneklerini de içerisinde barındırmaktadır. Anlatılanlar gerçek hayattan kesitler olsa da şair yaşanılanları kendi sanat dünyasında yoğurarak estetik bir üslupla yeniden canlandırmaya çalışmıştır. Günümüz romanlarında bile ender rastlanan geniş insan, tabiat ve savaş meydanı tasvirleri eserin dikkat çekici yönlerinden biridir. Sanatçının savaş meydanlarını ve savaşı canlandırmadaki yeteneği sayesinde Selim-nâme okuyucuyu tarihsel bir yolculuğa çıkarmaktadır. Eserde mecazlı anlatımlara, söz ve anlamla ilgili edebi sanatlara çokça başvurulmuştur. Okuyucunun göz ve kulak zevkine hitap edecek kafiye ve rediflerle, aliterasyon ve asonanslara ahenkli ve akıcı bir anlatıma şahit olmaktayız. Sahip olduğu kadılık, müderrislik, yöneticilik gibi birçok vasfa rağmen kendisini 'şair' olarak tanımlayan Şükrî-i Bitlisî'nin eseri Selim-nâme'yi edebi bir eser oluşturma amacı gözeterek yazdığı görülmektedir. Selim-nâme'nin şekil ve içerik özellikleri üzerinden edebi yönünü ortaya koyarak onun sadece bir tarih kitabı veya dil özellikleri bakımından dikkate alınan kültürel bir varlık olmadığını onun bu özelliklerinin yanında edebi yönden de görülmesi gereken somut özellikler barındırdığını göz önüne sermeye çalıştık.Literary works are among the important cultural assets of a nation that act as a bridge between the past and the future. They reflect the social, political and cultural environment of the period in which they were written. The work Selim-nâme written by Şükri-i Bitlisi, which is our subject of study, is a work that reflects the social, cultural and political characteristics of the 15th and 16th century Ottoman Empire. The campaigns of Yavuz Sultan Selim, one of the Ottoman rulers, during his crowning period, his ascension to the throne, his expeditions to different parts of Iran, Egypt and Anatolia are explained in a literary language in Selim-nâme. The work, written in the form of mesnevi, includes examples of classical Turkish poetry written in the style of dirge, ode and lyric. Although the stories are real-life sections, the poet tried to revive the experiences with an aesthetic style by kneading in his art world. The depictions of humans, nature and the battlefield, which are rare even in today's novels, are one of the striking aspects of the work. Selim-nâme takes the reader on a historical journey thanks to the writer's ability to portray battlefields and war. In the work, figurative expressions, literary arts related to word and meaning were used a lot. We witness a harmonious and fluent narration, alliteration and assonance, with rhymes and redifs that will appeal to the reader's eye and ear taste. It is seen that Şükri-i Bitlisi, who defines himself as a 'poet', wrote Selim-nâme with the aim of creating a literary work, despite his many qualifications such as being a judge, professor and administrator. By revealing the literary aspect of Selim-nâme through its form and content features, we tried to reveal that it is not only a history book or a cultural entity that is considered in terms of language features, but also contains concrete features that should be seen from the literary point of view.
