The Problems Encountered at the Methods Used in Science Teaching at Second Stage Primary Education in Center of Van

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Van ili merkezinde ilköğretim ikinci kademe fen bilgisiöğretiminde kullanılan yöntemlerde karşılaşılan sorunları tespit etmeyiamaçlamaktadır. Fen öğretimini daha verimli kılmak için fen eğitiminin bir parçasıolan öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerinin de dikkate alınması gerekir. Fen bilgisi dersiniverecek olan öğretmenin mevcut yöntem ve teknikleri çok iyi tanıması ve yerigelince kullanması gerekir. Bu çalışmada bilgi toplama aracı olarak Van ilimerkezindeki 42 Fen Bilgisi öğretmenine 53 soruluk anket uygulanmıştır.Araştırmanın genel amacı çerçevesinde cevapları aranan problemlere yöneliktoplanan verilerin gerekli istatistiksel çözümleri için SAS (Statistical AnalysisSystem) programından yararlanılmış ve frekans, yüzde yöntemleri ileyorumlanmıştır.Bu araştırma sonucunda Van ili merkezindeki öğretmenlerin anlatım ve sorucevap yöntemlerini diğer yöntemlere göre daha fazla kullandıkları tespit edilmiştir.Van ili merkezinde öğretmenlerin fen bilgisi dersinde karşılaştıkları en önemlisorunların sınıf mevcudunun çok olması, ders saatinin yetersiz olması, öğrencilerinmatematiksel bilgilerinin yeterli olmaması ve öğrenci velilerinin ilgisiz olmasıolduğu tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Fen bilgisi, Karşılaşılan sorunlar, Öğretimyöntemleri.This study aims to determine the encountered problems in the methods thatused for teaching primary school second stage science in center of Van. Teachingmethods and techniques as a part of science education should be considered to makethe science teaching more efficient. The teacher who presents the science coursesshould recognize clearly the available methods and techniques and use them as theyrequired. At this study, questionnaire that includes 53 questions has been applied to42 Science teachers in the center of Van as a tool of data collection. It has beenutilized from SAS (Statistical Analysis System) for the essential statistical solutionsof the collected data, intended to the questions which answers were investigated atthe point of the general aim of survey.As the result of this survey, it has been determined that the teachers wholocated in center of Van prefer the question-answer and expression methods ratherthan other methods. An also it has been determined that the most significant issuesthat teachers encountered in the center of Van are ; high level of total number ofattendance, inadequate course hourses, lack of mathematical knowledge of students,uninterested conservators of students.Key Words : Science, Encountered problems, Teaching methods.
