Abstract

Bu tez mühendislik, teknoloji ve toplum arasındaki ilişkiye odaklanmaktadır. Tezde bu alanlar arasındaki ilişki ayrık ve teorik değil pratik ve bütüncül olarak ele alınmıştır. Geleneksel ve ileri teknolojilerin sosyal etkilerinin mühendisliğin pratik ve felsefi yönleri ile olan ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Sadece geçmiş yaklaşımları eleştirmek değil, aynı zamanda mühendislik mesleğinin uygulamalarının disiplinler arası doğası ve sosyal etkileri üzerinde yeni güncel tartışma alanları açmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu anlamda, teknolojik felsefenin temel kavramları ile disiplinler arası bir çerçeve oluşturularak sosyal ekonomik ve çevresel sonuçlar tartışılmaktadır. Somut örnekler ile, mühendisliğin toplumu nasıl etkilediğine dair fikirlerin sosyal yükümlülükler konusunda ne kadar geniş bir perspektif sunduğu, doğrudan mühendislikle ilgilenmeyen kişiler için de adil ve eşit bir toplum yaratmaya nasıl yardımcı olabileceğini anlamak için ilgi çekici olabilir.This thesis focuses on the relationship between engineering, technology and society. In the thesis, the relationship between these fields is discussed as practical and holistic, not discrete and theoretical. The relationship between the social effects of traditional and advanced technologies and the practical and philosophical aspects of engineering is examined. It is not only to criticize past approaches, but also to open new areas of contemporary debate on the interdisciplinary nature and social implications of the practices of the engineering profession. In this sense, social, economic and environmental consequences are discussed by creating an interdisciplinary framework with the basic concepts of technological philosophy. With concrete examples, it may be of interest to understand how ideas about how engineering affects society offer a broad perspective on social obligations and how they can help create a just and equal society for those who are not directly involved in engineering.
