Kimyasal Evsel Atık ve Geri Dönüşüm Konusunun Öğretilmesinin Çevre Bilincine Etkisi ve Etki Düzeyi -Van İpekyolu İlçesi 8. Sınıflar Örneği

Abstract

Bu araştırma, Van ili İpekyolu ilçesinde bulunan 8. sınıf öğrencilerine yönelik olarak verilen çevre eğitiminin, öğrencilerin çevre bilinci ve çevreye yönelik tutum ve davranışları üzerindeki etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada, özellikle kimyasal evsel atıklar ve geri dönüşüm konuları ele alınarak, çevre eğitiminin bu yaş grubundaki öğrencilerde farkındalık oluşturma kapasitesi değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma, yarı deneysel bir desene dayalı olarak yürütülmüş ve çevre eğitimi öncesinde ve sonrasında uygulanan Çevre Bilinci Farkındalık Ölçeği aracılığıyla veri toplanmıştır. Eğitim süreci sonunda öğrencilerin çevre bilinci düzeylerindeki değişimleri ortaya koymak amacıyla ön test ve son test sonuçları karşılaştırmalı analiz yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, çevre eğitiminin öğrencilerin çevre bilincinde, çevreye yönelik bilgi ve tutumlarında anlamlı düzeyde artış sağladığını göstermektedir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, çevre eğitimi süreci öğrencilerin çevreye karşı duyarlılıklarını ve çevre koruma davranışlarını teşvik eden bir etkide bulunmuş; bu etkiler çevre sorunları hakkında bilinçlenme ve çevresel sürdürülebilirliğe katkıda bulunma eğilimlerini güçlendirmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçları, çevre eğitiminin genç nesillerde çevre bilinci geliştirmek, sürdürülebilir çevre bilincine sahip bireyler yetiştirmek ve çevre koruma farkındalığını artırmak için etkili bir yöntem olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. This study aims to examine the impact of environmental education provided to 8th-grade students in the İpekyolu district of Van province on their environmental awareness, attitudes, and behaviors toward the environment. The research focuses specifically on the topics of household chemical waste and recycling, evaluating the capacity of environmental education to create awareness among students of this age group. The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental design, with data collected through the Environmental Awareness Scale administered before and after the environmental education. To reveal changes in students' environmental awareness levels, pre-test and post-test results were analyzed using comparative analysis methods at the end of the education process. The data obtained indicate that environmental education significantly increased students' levels of environmental awareness and improved their knowledge and attitudes toward the environment. According to the research findings, the environmental education process had a positive effect on promoting students' sensitivity to the environment and encouraging their behaviors related to environmental conservation; this effect strengthened their awareness of environmental issues and their inclination to contribute to environmental sustainability. The results of the study demonstrate that environmental education is an effective method for fostering environmental awareness among young generations, raising environmentally conscious individuals, and enhancing environmental conservation awareness.
