Abstract
This study was conducted to review all scientific studies related to fascioliasis in Van and its surroundings. All national/international full-text studies that were accessible were systematically compiled within the scope of the study. The study design was organised using the PRIZMA checklist. A total of 127 studies were identified from all databases during the literature review. Seventeen studies that met the inclusion/exclusion criteria were included in the review. As a result of reviewing all studies, it was determined that there are a number of problems, including the region's topography and climate, the local population's lack of sufficient knowledge about fascioliasis, differences in the methodological approaches applied in the studies and consequently differences in the results, misinterpretation or inadequacy of resources in the region, and insufficient adherence to hygiene rules. Based on the results of the studies, it was emphasised that a comprehensive study should be conducted to identify the causes of fascioliasis, which poses a significant risk to both animal and human health, and to determine the necessary measures to be taken. It was also emphasised that the necessary education, guidance, and awareness-raising activities should be carried out based on the results of this study.
