Abstract

Hyperparathyroidism is a general term indicating an increased level of parathyroid hormone in the blood. The condition is generally divided into three types: primary, secondary, and tertiary. A number of rheumatic findings are associated with parathyroid hormone excess. In this study a case is presented of a woman with primary hyperparathyroidism and its rheumatic manifestations due to an intrathymic parathyroid adenoma.
