The Poisonous Plants of Gürpinar (Van) District and Surroundings

Abstract

Bu çalışma, 2022-2024 yılları arası Van ili, Gürpınar ilçesi ve çevresindeki köylerde yetişen, insanlar ve hayvanlar tarafından yenildiğinde zehir etkisi yapan ve sağlığı olumsuz yönde etkileyen bitkileri tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada bitkilere ait bilimsel isimler, yöresel isimler ve bitkilerin zehirli kısımları belirtilmiştir. Gürpınar ilçesi, Davis'in kareleme sistemi çerçevesinde Türkiye'nin B9 karesi içerisinde bulunmaktadır. Araştırma esnasında, bölge insanları ile görüşmeler yapılmış ve bilgiler alınmıştır. İnsan sağlığı, hayvan sağlığı ve hayvansal üretim açısından zehirli bitki zararının en az düzeye indirgenebilmesi amacıyla toksik madde içeren bitkilerin tanınması, biyolojilerinin ve özelliklerinin belirlenmesi ve teşhisi büyük önem arz etmektedir. Aynı zamanda meralardan yararlanan üreticilere ve hayvancılıkla uğraşan çiftçilere bu bitkilerin tanıtılması gerekmektedir. Bu anlamda bölgede yetişen zehirli bitkilerin belirlenmesi, hem bilimsel literatürde hem de yöre insanının faydalanması açısından yarar sağlayacaktır. Yapılan arazi taramaları sonucunda insanlar ve hayvanlar için zehirli olan ve tehlike arz edebilecek düzeyde 36 familyaya ait 168 takson tespit edilmiştir. Bu taksonların 153 tanesinin otsu yapıda, 9 tanesinin ağaç, 6 tanesinin çalı formunda, 41 tanesinin endemik bitki ve 10 tanesinin de kültür bitkisi olduğu belirlenmiştir.This study was carried out to identify the plants that grow in Gürpınar district of Van province and its surrounding villages between 2022-2024, which have poisonous effects and adversely affect health when eaten by humans and animals. In the study, scientific names, local names and poisonous parts of the plants were indicated. Gürpınar district is located within the B9 square of Türkiye within the framework of Davis' squaring system. During the research, interviews were conducted with the people of the region and information was obtained. In order to minimize toxic plant damage in terms of human health, animal health and animal production, it is of great importance to recognize plants containing toxic substances, to determine their biology and properties and to identify them. At the same time, these plants should be introduced to producers who benefit from pastures and farmers engaged in animal husbandry. In this sense, determining the poisonous plants growing in the region will be useful both in the scientific literature and for the benefit of local people. As a result of the field surveys, 168 taxa belonging to 36 families that are poisonous and dangerous for humans and animals were identified. Of these taxa, 153 are herbaceous, 9 are trees, 6 are shrubs, 41 are endemic plants and 10 are cultivated plants.
