The Effect of the Computer Technologies on Students? Achievment in the Structural Teaching of Some Subjects in Physics

Abstract

Bu çalışmada ortaöğretim fizik dersinde bazı konuların, bilgisayar teknolojilerinden ortaöğretim fizik dersi için hazırlanmış multimedya CD ortamları ve Internet kullanılarak öğretilmesinin öğrenci başarısına etkileri araştırılmıştır. Van ili, Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı bir ortaöğretim okulunda, 234 öğrenciden 4 deney ve 4 kontrol grubu oluşturulmuştur. Gruplara öncelikle birer ön test uygulanmıştır. Bilgisayar teknolojileri kullanılarak öğretim yapılırken, öğrencilere performans görevleri verildi ve bu görevlerin sonucu öğretim süreci içerisinde incelendi. Daha sonra ürünü test etmek adına bir son test uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca tüm öğrencilerle bir yapılandırılmamış mülâkat da yapılmıştır.Performans görevlerinden elde edilen veriler incelerek değerlendirilmiştir. Hazırlanan dereceli puanlama anahtarı ile performans görevleri puanlanmış ve veriler, testlerden elde edilen veriler ile birlikte SPSS paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının başarı düzeyleri arasında anlamlı farklara ulaşılmıştır. Deney grubu öğrencilerinin derse karşı tutumlarında diğer gruba göre daha olumlu gelişmeler tespit edilmiştir.

In this study, the effect of teaching some subjects in secondary school physics course by using computer technologies such as internet and multimedia CDs prepared for secondary school physics course on the student?s achievement have been studied. 4 experimental and 4 control groups with 234 students were constituted in a secondary school of the Directory of National Education of the province of Van. Initially, a pre-test was applied to the groups. While they were being educated by using computer technologies, the students were given some performance tasks to bring up how much they learnt what and the results of these tasks were studied carefully during the process. Afterwards, a post-test was applied to test the final product. Moreover, all the students were interviewed, which was not constructed.The data obtained from the performance tasks were studied and evaluated. The performance tasks were graded with the available grading key and the data were analyzed with the SPSS package program together with the data obtained from the tests. Meaningful differences were obtained between the achievement levels of the experimental and the control groups. More positive improvements were established in the attitudes of the experimental group students towards the course according to the control group.
