Determining Depression Levels Andexamining the Affecting Factors of Health Workersworking in the Process of Covi̇d-19 Pandemic at Vany.y.u. Faculty of Medicine

Abstract

Giriş ve Amaç: Bu çalışmada Covid-19 pandemi sürecinde görev yapan sağlık çalışanlarının depresyon düzeyleri ve etkileyen faktörler arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya YYÜ Dursun Odabaşı Tıp Fakültesi'nde pandemide görev almış 200 sağlık çalışanı dahil edildi. Ocak-Haziran 2022 tarihleri arasında katılımcıların onayları alındıktan sonra sosyo-demografik özellikleri, kişisel alışkanlıkları ve COVID19 pandemisi ile ilgili kişinin psikolojik, sosyal ve ailesel durumundaki değişimler ile ilgili 14 sorudan oluşan bir anket formu ve 21 sorudan oluşan Beck Depresyon Ölçeği uygulandı. Bulgular: Çalışmamızda ortaya çıkan değişkenler ışığında depresyon düzeyleri yüksek çıkanların; erkeklerden çok kadınlar, bekarlara göre boşanmış bireyler, hemşirelerden fazla doktorlar, geliri on bin TL ve üzerindekiler, yalnız yaşayanlar, sigara kullanımı olanlar, kronik sağlık sorunları bulunanlar olduğu tespit edildi. Sonuç: Elde edilen bulgular ışığında, sağlık çalışanlarında pandemi şartlarında yataklı servislerde aktif hasta bakanlarda ve cinsiyetin, sigara gibi zararlı alışkanlıkların, sağlık ve özel yaşamda sorun yaşayanların depresyon düzeylerinde yüksek oranlar dikkat çekmiştir.

Introduction and Aim: In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the depression levels of health workers working during the Covid-19 pandemic and the affecting factors. Materials and Methods: 200 healthcare professionals who took part in the pandemic at YYU Dursun Odabaşı Medical Faculty were included in the study. After obtaining the consent of the participants between January and June 2022, a questionnaire consisting of 14 questions and the Beck Depression Scale consisting of 21 questions were applied, regarding the socio- demographic characteristics, personal habits and changes in the psychological, social and familial status of the person related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: In the light of the variables revealed here, those with high depression levels; It was determined that there were more women than men, divorced individuals compared to singles, more doctors than nurses, those with an income of ten thousand TL or more, those living alone, those who smoked, and those with chronic health problems. Conclusion: According to the data obtained, high rates were noted in healthcare workers, active caregivers in inpatient services under pandemic conditions, and in the beds of those living in health and private life, gender, harmful enclosures such as cigarettes.
