Determining the Factors Affecting the Happiness Levels of Diverse Individuals by Ordinal Logistics Regression Analysis

Abstract

Bağımlı değişkenin kategorik ve sıralı yapıda olduğu durumda model tahmini için Sıralı Lojistik Regresyon Modeli kullanılmaktadır. Sıralı Lojistik Regresyon Modelini tahmin edebilmek için paralel doğrular varsayımını sağlaması gerekmektedir. Çalışmada boşanmış bireylerin mutluluk düzeyleri sıralı lojistik regresyon modeli ile tahmin edilmiştir. Analizde kullanılan veri seti 2020 yılında Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu tarafından uygulanan Yaşam Memnuniyeti Araştırması'ndan elde edilmiştir. Paralel doğrular varsayımı için Brant'ın Wald Testi ve Olabilirlik Oran Testi uygulanmış ve sıfır hipotezi reddedilememiştir. Bu bağlamda model sıralı lojistik regresyon modeli tahmin edilmiştir. İstatistiksel olarak anlamlı olan değişkenlerden cinsiyet değişkeni boşanmış kadınların boşanmış erkeklere göre daha fazla mutlu olduklarını göstermektedir. Boşanmış bireylerde başarılı olma durumu ve iş değişkenleri diğer faktörlere göre mutluluk düzeylerini azaltıcı eğilimde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Genel olarak eğitim durumu incelendiğinde boşanmış bireylerin eğitim seviyeleri arttıkça mutluluk düzeylerinin arttığı görülmüştür. Sağlığından, aldıkları eğitimden, gelirinden ve sosyal hayatından memnun olan boşanmış bireylerin sağlığından, aldıkları eğitimden, gelirinden ve sosyal hayatından memnun olmayan boşanmış bireylere göre daha fazla mutlu oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Boşanmış bireylerin Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu'na kayıtlı olmaları, kayıtlı olmayanlara göre mutluluk düzeylerinin daha fazla olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

In cases where the dependent variable is categorical and ordinal, the Ordinal Logistic Regression Model is used for model estimation. In order to predict the Ordinal Logistic Regression Model, it must provide the parallel lines assumption. In the study, the happiness levels of divorced individuals were estimated with the ordinal logistic regression model. The data set used in the analysis was obtained from the Life Satisfaction Survey implemented by the Turkish Statistical Institute in 2020. Brant's Wald Test and Likelihood Ratio Test were applied for the parallel lines assumption and the null hypothesis could not be rejected. In this context, the model ordinal logistic regression model was estimated. The gender variable, which is statistically significant, shows that divorced women are more happy than divorced men. It has been determined that the status of success and job variables in divorced individuals tend to decrease their happiness levels compared to other factors. In general, when the education level is examined, it has been seen that the level of happiness of the divorced individuals increases as the education level increases. It has been concluded that divorced individuals who are satisfied with their health, education, income and social life are more happy than divorced individuals who are not satisfied with their health, education, income and social life. It has been determined that divorced individuals are registered with the Social Security Institution and their happiness levels are higher than those who are not registered.
