Abstract
The petroleum industry relies a great deal on metals, from equipment to structures and mainly pipelines and piping. Even though metals are reliable materials, they also possess several weaknesses and problems, including corrosion, cracking, and any other form of defect. Regular inspection of pipelines is essential to have consistent petroleum transportation and facility performance. In this thesis data from numerous areas of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq are taken to create a thorough comparison of the inspection results from Ultrasonic and Radiographic inspections, based on inspection detail, cost, reliability, safety, and other factors. The analysis here has proven the advantage of one method over the other in some cases. Keywords: Corrosion, Defect, Inspection, Non-destructive testing, Piping, Pipeline, Radiographic
