The Role of Teachers' Experiences in the Perspectives of Preschool Teachers on Biodiversity

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin biyoçeşitliliğe ilişkin bakış açılarında öğretmenlik yaşantılarının rolünü araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları Van İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı bir anaokulunda görev yapan öğretmenlerden oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Verileri toplamak için yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde nitel veri analizi kullanılarak içerik ve betimsel analiz yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin biyoçeşitliliğe ilişkin birçok kavram yanılgılarının olduğu, buna karşın biyoçeşitliliğe yönelik olumlu bakış açısına sahip odukları ortaya çıkmıştır.

The aim of this study was towards investigate the role of preschool teachers' teaching experiences in their perspectives to biodiversity. The participants of this study consisted of the teachers working in a kindergarten of the province of Van. In current study, qualitative research methods are used. Semi-structured interviews were implemented for data collection process. For data analysis, content and descriptive analysis were performed as being qualitative data analysis methods. The results of the study showed that although preschool teachers have many misconceptions about biodiversity, they have positive views towards it, too.
