Examination on Ideas of Preschool Teachers About Etwinnning Platform

Abstract

eTwinning, Avrupa'daki okulların ortak projeler sayesinde etkileşim kurdukları çevrimiçi bir platformdur. eTwinning platformu Avrupa komisyonu tarafından 2005 yılında kurulmasından 4 yıl sonra 2009 yılında Türkiye de dahil olmuştur. Türkiye platforma üye öğretmen sayısı ve yapılan projeler bakımından oldukça etkin durumdadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı da öğretmenler tarafından tercih edilen eTwinning platformu hakkında okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Ankara'da görev yapan 19 okul öncesi öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubuna katılacak öğretmenler ölçüt örneklem yöntemi ve kartopu yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırma için oluşturulan ölçütler öğretmenlerin en az bir yıldır eTwinning platformuna üye olması, en az bir projeye katılması ve en az bir Ulusal Kalite etiketi almış olmasıdır. Araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşme sorularındaki beş soru demografik bilgi sorusuyken sekiz soru da araştırmaya yönelik sorulardır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması tercih edilmiştir. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde içerik analizi ve betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Veriler kodlara ayrılmış daha sonra temalar altında bir araya getirilerek tablolaştırılmıştır. Oluşturulan tablolar ile bulgular kısmına elde edilen veriler aktarılmıştır. Bulgular eTwinning platformunun çocuklara ve öğretmenlere olumlu yönde etkileri olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. eTwinning'in öğretmenlerin teknolojik alanda gelişimlerini sağladıkları web 2.0 araçları kullanmayı ve güvenli internet kullanmayı öğrendikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Hem öğretmenlerin hem de çocukların eTwinning projeleri sayesinde farklı kültürleri tanıma fırsatı buldukları belirtilmiştir. eTwinning platformunun çocukların en çok sosyal gelişimlerine katkısının olduğu çocukların kendilerini ifade etme becerilerinin geliştiği, iş birliği ve grup çalışmasına yakınlıklarının arttığı, özgüvenlerinin geliştiği, sorumluluk alma bilincinin desteklendiği, özgün ve yaratıcı olmalarını sağladığı ve toplumsal konulara karşı farkındalık geliştirdikleri sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçların benzer çalışmalarla da desteklendiği belirtilmiştir. eTwinning platformu okul öncesi öğretmenlerini ve okul öncesi dönem çocuklarını çeşitli yönlerden desteklendiği için daha fazla öğretmen tarafından kullanılması önerilmektedir. eTwinning projelerine dahil olmayan öğretmenlerin nedenleri tespit edilerek platformun kullanılabilirliğinin desteklenebileceği belirtilmiştir.eTwinning is a online platform in which schools have communication by same projects. In 2009, eTwinning is included in Turkey after it has been established by Europe Comission, in 2005. Turkey is very active state by teachers number who are member platforma and projets which are done. The aim of this study is analyzing of preschool teachers' opinion about eTwinning platform which are used by these teachers. Study group of this work is 19 different teahcers who are working in Ankara. These teachers are specified by criterion sampling and snowball method. The criterions for study are these; being member of eTwining at least one year, participate at least one preject and and having at least one national quality label. Semi-structured interview form is used in the study. Five questions used in study are about demographic information ab eigth questions are about study. Case study one of the qualitative research method is preferred. Content analysis and descriptive analysis are used in the analysis of the data obtained. The data are divided into codes and then brought together under themes and tabulated. With the created tables, the data obtained are transferred to the findings section. The findings reveal that the eTwinning platform has positive effects on children and teachers. It has been concluded that eTwinning has learned to use web 2.0 tools that teachers have developed in the technological field and to use safe internet. It has been stated that both teachers and children have the opportunity to get to know different cultures thanks to eTwinning projects. It has been concluded that the eTwinning platform contributes to the social development of children the most, that their ability to express themselves improves, their closeness to cooperation and group work increases, their self-confidence develops, the awareness of taking responsibility is supported, they enable them to be original and creative, and they develop awareness of social issues. It is stated that these results were supported by similar studies. Since the eTwinning platform supports preschool teachers and preschool children in various aspects, it is recommended to be used by more teachers. It has been stated that the usability of the platform can be supported by identifying the reasons for teachers who are not involved in eTwinning projects.
