Examinining of the Relationship Between the Codependency of the College Students and Some Variables

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin ilişki bağımlılığı düzeyleri ile sahip oldukları bazı demografik değişkenler arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma, ilişkisel tarama modeline uygun olarak hazırlanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında Spann-Fischer İlişki Bağımlılığı Ölçeği?nin Türk Kültürü?ne uyarlama çalışması da yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Van Yüzüncü yıl Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi?nde okuyan 1409 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada öğrencilerin bazı demografik değişkenlerine ulaşılabilmesi amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen kişisel bilgi formu, Spann-Fischer İlişki Bağımlılığı Ölçeği, ölçüt geçerliliğinin yapılabilmesi amacıyla Genel Sağlık Anketi-12 ve Rossenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre Türkçe ?ye uyarlanan Spann-Fischer İlişki Bağımlılığı Ölçeği?nin iç tutarlılık katsayısı 0.65 düzeyinde güvenilir olduğu ve ölçüt geçerliliği kapsamında belirlenen ölçeklerle arasında anlamlı ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusundaki sonuçlara bakıldığında, aile içi fiziksel ya da ruhsal bozukluk olduğunda öğrencilerin ilişki bağımlılığı puanlarının olmayanlara göre daha yüksek olduğu ve aile içi şiddet davranışları algılanan öğrencilerin de olmayanlara göre daha yüksek ilişki bağımlılığı puanları aldıkları görülmüştür. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between the codependency level of the college students and the variables that they keep. So as to achieve this goal, research has been prepared in compliance with the survey- type model. In accordance with the concept of this study, Spann-Fischer Codependency Scale was adapted to Turkish culture. The sample of this research composes of 1409 college students studying at the faculty of education in University of Yüzüncü Yıl. In the research, individual information form developed by the researcher in order to collect the data about variables of the students, Spann-Fischer Codependency Scale and in order to search the validity criteria of the study ?General Health Questionnaire-12? and ?Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale? have been used. As a result of the analysis carried out through the Turkish form of Spann-Fischer Codependency scale include adequate internal consistency, .65 and significant relationship was found between codependency scores and the other scales that accordance with the validity criteria of the study. Including the results of the research?s main purposes, students who reported physical or mental problems among family members, received more codependency scores than those who didn?t report. Similarly, students who reported domestic violence received more codependency scores than those who didn?t. Key Words: Codependency, codependency scale, self-esteem.
