The Sufficiency of Tourist Guides Working in Eastern Anatolian Region and Analysis of the Tourist Satisfaction

Abstract

Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde, Turizm sektörü özellikle de turist memnuniyeti bölgenin gelişmesi için en önemli faktörlerden biridir. Bu durumda rehberlerin, nitelikleri ve özellikleri ile turist memnuniyeti sağlamada önemli konumda oldukları dikkate alındığında, turistlerin beklentilerinin karşılanmasında rehberlerin kilit bir konumda oldukları görülmektedir. Başarılı bir turist rehberi ülkesinin ve yöresinin imajını geliştirmekte, aynı zamanda turistlerin tatillerinden memnun olarak dönmelerine yardımcı olmaktadır.?Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde Çalışan Turist Rehberlerinin Yeterliliği Ve Turist Memnuniyetinin Analizi? isimli yüksek lisans tezinin amacı, turist rehberlerinin yeterliliklerini ve almış oldukları eğitimlerinde arkeoloji ve sanat tarihi bilgilerini ölçmektir. Turist rehberlerinin bilgi ve beceri düzeyleri, kişilik-karakter özellikleri dikkate alınarak turistlerin turist rehberlerinden beklentileri, önem ve performansları karşılaştırmalı olarak ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.Çalışmada profesyonel turist rehberliği mesleği ve eğitimi ortaya konulmaya çalışılmış, turist rehberlerine anketler yapılarak almış oldukları mesleki eğitimlerinin yeterliliği irdelenmiş, ayrıca Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde turist potansiyeli yüksek olan Van, Ağrı, Kars ve Erzurum illeri seçilerek bölgeye gelen yerli ve yabancı turistlerin katıldıkları turlarda turist rehberlerinin nitelik ve özelliklerinin turistler açısından önem-performans düzeyleri belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.

In Eastern Anatolian region, the tourism sector and especially the tourist satisfaction is one of the most important issues for the development of the region. Therefore, if we consider the important position of the tourist guides with their qualifications to achieve this satisfaction, it can be seen that they are in a key role for fulfilling the expectations of the tourists. A successful tourist guide helps developing the image of the region and the country as well as helping the tourists to return happily after their holidays.The purpose of the master thesis ?The sufficiency of tourist guides working in Eastern Anatolian region and analysis of the tourist satisfaction? is to measure the sufficiency of the tourist guides and their knowledge about archeology and art history. The knowledge and skill levels of the tourist guides are explained comparing the personality features, expectation of the tourists from the guides, their importance and performances.In the study, the professional tourist guide job and education are explained, the sufficiency of their vocational education are examined by survey forms. Besides, Van, Ağrı, Kars and Erzurum have high tourist potential are selected and the importance-performance levels of the tourist guide features according to local and foreign tourists attending the tours.
