The Determination of User Preferences While Redesigning the Cumhuriyet Street of City Van and Proposing the Sample Projects

Abstract

Yoğun yapılaşmadan dolayı, kent halkının faydalanabileceği açık yeşil alan miktarının kısıtlı olduğu bir gerçektir. Büyüyen kentlerle birlikte artan nüfus miktarı da bu alanların yetersiz kalmasına neden olmaktadır. Bu nedenle, kentlerde daha yaşanabilir mekanların oluşturulmasında, yol kenarlarının yeşillendirilmesinin katkıları yadsınamaz. Yol kenarlarında yapılan ağaçlandırma çalışmaları, insanlar için hem estetik hem de fonksiyonel yönden oldukça faydalıdır. Bu çalışmada; öncelikle yol kenarlarının ağaçlandırılmasının işlevi ve kent halkına katkıları incelenmektedir. Yol kenarlarının yeşillendirilmesinde kullanılacak bitki türlerinin doğru seçimi ve ağaç dikimlerinin doğru yapılması gerektiği hakkında bilgiler verilmektedir. Bu doğrultuda Van Cumhuriyet Caddesinin mevcut yol kenarı ağaçlandırması incelenmektedir. Kentsel tasarım açısından daha sağlıklı ve nitelikli bir cadde ağaçlandırması için çalışma alanında anket çalışması ve yüz yüze görüşmeler yapıldı. Elde edilen sonuçlar tablolar halinde incelendi ve halkın katılımı ile beraber uzman görüşleri sonucu uygun tasarım kriteri geliştirildi. It is a fact that the amount of green space available to the people of the city is limited due to the intensive construction. The growing population along with the growing cities causes these areas to be insufficient. Therefore, the contribution of greening the roadsides in the creation of more livable spaces in cities cannot be denied. The afforestation works on the sides of the roads are very beneficial for people both aesthetically and functionally. In this study; First of all, the function of the afforestation of the roadsides and their contributions to the city people are examined. Information is given about the correct selection of plant species to be used in the greening of road sides and the correct planting of trees. In this direction, the existing roadside afforestation of Van Cumhuriyet Street is examined. Surveys and face-to-face interviews were conducted in the study area for a healthy and qualified street afforestation in terms of urban design. The results obtained were analyzed in tables. the suitable design criterion was developed with the participation of the public and expert opinions.
