Evaluation of the Music and Game Course Teaching Program Applied in Special Education Practice Schools
Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı, 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılında Özel Eğitim Uygulama Okulları'nda uygulanan Müzik ve Oyun dersi öğretim programının müzik öğretmenleri tarafından değerlendirilmesini belirlemek olmuştur. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden genel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu küme örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiş ve bu doğrultuda Özel Eğitim Uygulama Okulları'nda görev yapan müzik öğretmenlerinden 242 kişilik bir çalışma grubu oluşturulmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Müzik ve Oyun dersi öğretim programı değerlendirme ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin geliştirilmesi sürecinde literatür taraması yapılmış, madde havuzu oluşturulmuş, uzman görüşleri alınmış ve oluşan taslak form son haline getirildikten sonra uygulama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ölçek geliştirme aşamasının ardından araştırmanın birinci alt problemine yönelik olarak betimsel istatistikler, ikinci alt problemine yönelik olarak bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi, üçüncü ve beşinci alt problemlerine yönelik olarak Kruskal-Wallis H testi ve dördüncü alt probleme yönelik olarak tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çok değişkenli normallik analizinde R paketlerinden MVN, açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizlerinde bir R paketi olan lavaan, path diyagramının çizilmesinde ve güvenirlik analizinde R paketlerinden semTools, paralel analiz ve Hull yöntemi için EFAtools paketi kullanılmış ve hipotez testlerinde de SPSS yazılımı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda; öğretmenlerin görev yapılan kademe ve mezun olunan fakülte/bölüm değişkenine göre değerlendirmelerinin benzer olduğu, görevdeki hizmet süresi ve mezuniyet yılı değişkenine göre görevde yeni olan öğretmenlerin tecrübeli öğretmenlere göre programı daha olumlu değerlendirdikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın diğer sonuçlarına bakıldığında programın; ders etkinliklerinin kazanımlarla uyumluluk göstermediği, hedef ve kazanımlarının öğrenci ihtiyaçlarına uygun olmadığı ve 1 ders yılı içerisinde uygulanamayacağı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca ölçek puan ortalamasının orta düzeyin altında olması sebebiyle programın güncellenebileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The aim of this research was to determine the evaluation of the Music and Game course curriculum implemented in Special Education Practice Schools in the 2023-2024 academic year by music teachers. The general screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The study group of the research was determined by the cluster sampling method and in this direction, a study group of 242 music teachers working in Special Education Practice Schools was formed. The Music and Game course curriculum evaluation scale developed by the researcher was used as the data collection tool. During the development process of the scale, a literature review was conducted, an item pool was created, expert opinions were received, and the application was carried out after the resulting draft form was finalized. After the scale development phase, descriptive statistics were performed for the first sub-problem of the research, t-test for independent samples for the second sub-problem, Kruskal-Wallis H test for the third and fifth sub-problems, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for the fourth sub-problem. In multivariate normality analysis, MVN from R packages, lavaan which is an R package in exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, semTools from R packages were used in drawing path diagram and reliability analysis, EFAtools package was used for parallel analysis and Hull method and SPSS software was used in hypothesis tests. As a result of the research; it was concluded that the evaluations of teachers according to the level they work and graduated faculty/department variables were similar, and according to the service period and graduation year variables, new teachers evaluated the program more positively than experienced teachers. When other results of the research are examined, it was concluded that the program; course activities were not compatible with the achievements, the goals and achievements were not suitable for student needs and it could not be implemented within 1 academic year. In addition, it was concluded that the program could be updated since the scale score average was below the middle level.
