The Tick Infestation of Sheep and Goat in the Kastamonu Province
Abstract
Bu çalışma Mayıs 2009 ? Ekim 2009 ayları arasında Kastamonu merkez ile merkeze bağlı Çaycevher, Alpagut, Abay, Çetme, Kaşçılar, Kıyık, Budamış, Derebesibey, Ortabesibey köylerinde yetiştirilen koyun ve keçilerden kene materyali toplanması ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla 1844 koyun, 555 keçiden kene toplanmıştır. Keneler laboratuarda temizlenerek steromikrobkopta tür teşhisleri yapılmıştır. Sonuçta koyun ve keçilerde 8 ayrı kene türüne rastlanmıştır. Koyun ve keçilerde en baskın türler sırasıyla Rhipicephalus bursa, Rhipicephalus turanicus, Haemophysialis parva, Haemophysialis sulacata olmuştur. Koyun ve keçilerde en az görülen türler ise sırasıyla Haemaphysialis punctata, Hyalomma marginatum marginatum, Dermacentor marginatus ve Rhipicephalus sanguinevs olmuştur. Genel enfestasyon oranları ise koyunlarda %53.47, keçilerde ise %26,57 oranlarında bulunmuştur.
This study way carried out by collecting tick from sheep and goats raised in the villages of Kastamonu provine and its town, namely Çaycevher, Alpagut, Abay, Çetme, Kaşçılar, Kıyık, Budamış, Derebesibey and Ortabesibey between May-November 2009. For this purpose, ticks were collected from a total of 1844 sheep and 555 goats. Species type were determined using stereo-microscope after cleaning ticks in laboratory. In conclusion, 8 differant ticks were determined on sheep and goats. The most dominant tick species on sheep and goat were Rhipicephalus bursa, Rhipicephalus turanicus, Haemophysialis parva and Haemophysialis sulcata, respectively. The less common tick species on sheep and goat were Hea. punctata,Hyalomma marginatum marginatum,Dermacentor marginatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus,respectively.General infestation were 53.47% for sheep and 26.57% for goat.
