Abstract
This study was carried out at Van province, Turkey between 1996 and 1998. Wild plants and cultivated crops from different habitats were surveyed and mealybug samples were collected. Slides were prepared from these samples and nineteen species were identified of which 2 have been previously identified. These species were found belonging to 8 genera which are belong to the family Pseudococcidae. Antonina graminis. Atrococcus ingidens, Atrococcus saxatilis, Euripersia amnicola, Heliococcus bohemicus, Heliococcus saxatilis, Mirococcus inermis, Peliococcus bitubulatus, Peliococcus manifectus, Peliococcus terrestris, Peliococcus turanicus, Peliococcus unispinus, Phenacoccus affinis, Phenacoccus karaberdi, Phenacoccus tergrigorianae, Trionymus abberans and Trionymus graminellus are for the first time to be recorded in Turkey.
