Determination of the Effect of Different Cadmium Doses on Some Physiological and Biochemical Properties in Sesame Varieties (sesamum Indicum L.)
Abstract
This study was carried out in the climate room of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Agriculture, Field Crops Department in 2021, in factorial order with 4 replications according to the Random Plots Trial Design. Muganlı, Orhangazi and Cumhuriyet sesame varieties were used as seed material in the research. In the study carried out, 4 different doses of Cadmium (0, 25, 50, 100 mg L-1 CdSO4) were applied to sesame plants and their effects on morphological, physiological and biochemical parameters were determined. As a result of the research; It has been determined that heavy metal stress causes regressions in morphological development in plants. In parallel with the increasing cadmium dose, stem fresh and dry weight, root fresh and dry weight, stem and root length, leaf area, membrane durability index (YDMDI) in leaf tissues, relative water content in leaf tissues (YDBSI) and chlorophyll amount decreased, MDA and leaf It was determined that the rate of ion leakage (YDISB) in the tissues increased.
