Between Çaldıran-Van Lake Bendimahi River Valley and İts Near Surroundings Geomorphology

Abstract

''Çaldıran-Van Gölü Arasında Bendimahi Nehri Vadisi ve Yakın Çevresinin Jeomorfolojisi'' adlı Yüksek Lisans tezi olarak hazırlanan bu çalışma, Van Gölü Kapalı Havza'nın kuzeydoğusunu kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada Bendimahi Nehri vadisi ve yakın çevresinin jeomorfolojik özellikleri başta olmak üzere, alanın jeomorfolojisini etkileyen iklim, hidrografya, volkanizma, jeoloji ve tektonik yapı gibi fiziki coğrafya özellikleri ele alınmıştır. Bu başlıklar çerçevesinde gerekli literatür taraması yapılmış ve ilgili kurumlardan çalışma alanına ait veriler elde edilmiştir. Flüvyal sistemlere ait önemli morfolojik birimleri içerisinde barındıran araştırma sahasında gerçekleştirilen arazi çalışmalarıyla bu tez akademik literatüre kazandırılmaya çalışılmıştır. This study, prepared as a Master's thesis titled 'Geomorphology of the Bendimahi River Valley and its Surroundings between Çaldıran and Van Lake', covers the northeast of the Van Lake Closed Basin. In the study, physical geography features such as climate, hydrography, volcanism, geology and tectonic structure that affect the geomorphology of the area, especially the geomorphological features of the Bendimahi River valley and its immediate surroundings, were discussed. Within the framework of these headings, the necessary literature review was conducted and data regarding the study area was obtained from relevant institutions. This thesis has been tried to be included in the academic literature through field studies carried out in the research area, which contains important morphological units of fluvial systems.
