Perceptions of Primary School Manager, Teacher and Representatives Concerning of the Education of Democracy and School Council Project

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan yönetici ve öğretmenler ile ilköğretim okullarının okul temsilcilerinin Demokrasi Eğitimi ve Okul Meclisleri Projesi'nin; uygulama, yöntem, amaç ve geliştirilmesine yönelik algılarının ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Evrenimiz, Van ili ilköğretim okulları olarak tespit edilmiştir. Van ilinde bulunan 5 eğitim bölgesinin, her bir bölgeden 3'er okul seçkisiz yöntemle belirlenmek suretiyle toplamda 15 okuldan oluşan bir örneklem oluşturulmuştur. Her okuldan 1'er yönetici, 1'er öğretmen ve 1'er okul temsilcisi olmak üzere 15 yönetici, 15 öğretmen ve 15 öğrenci olmak suretiyle toplamda 45 kişi ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Örneklem grubumuza yedişer adet soru yöneltilmiştir, cevaplar kaydedilmiş görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler SPSS 15.0 programı (lisanslı) istatistik paket programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Yapılan araştırma sonucunda; yönetici, öğretmen ve öğrencilerin Demokrasi Eğitimi ve Okul Meclisleri Projesinin amaçları ile ilgili olumlu görüşlere sahip oldukları, öğrencilerin vaatlerinin bir kısmını yerine getiremedikleri, projenin daha etkili uygulanabilmesi için okullara ödenek çıkarılması, okuldaki her türlü karar mekanizmasına öğrencilerin etkin katılımlarının sağlanması gerektiği gibi sonuçlar ortaya çıkmıştır. The aim of this research is to reveal the understanding of administrators, teachers and representatives in primary schools towards the Education of Democracy and School Council Project and its practical application, method, objective and improvement. Our universe of Van province primary schools have been identified as. 15 schools are sampled by choosing 3 schools at random from each of 5 education zones in Van. It's negotiated with 45 persons in total,15 of whom are administrators, 15 of whom are teachers and 15 of whom are school representatives. The sample group was asked 7 questions. The data obtained from negotiation is analyzed by using SPSS statistical packaged software and also outstanding thoughts are stated in findings section. It's resulted from the research that administrators, teachers and students have positive views on the aims of Education of Democracy and School Council Project and it's said that students haven't been able to keep some of their promises. Therefore it is clear that in order to put the project into practice more effectively, we need to make an appropriation for schools and to help the students take part in actively making decisions at school.
