Retrospective Analysis of Endocrinological Parameters of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Patients Who Were Followed Up in Van Yüzüncü Yil University Medical Faculty Pediatric Hematology Unit and Whose Treatment Was Completed

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmada Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Hematoloji Ünitesi'nde izlenen ve tedavisi bitmiş olan akut lenfoblastik lösemi hastaların endokrinolojik parametrelerinin retrospektif olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışma Van Dursun Odabaşı Tıp Merkezi Hastanesi Pediatrik Hematoloji Ünitesi'nde 1 Ocak 2007- 31 Aralık 2019 tarihleri arasında ALL tanısı alan ve tedavisi tamamlanan hastalar ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular: Olguların %51,1'i (n=23) erkek, %48,9'u (n=22) kız, yaş ortalaması 12,9±4,0'dır. ALL tipi incelendiğinde %75,6 (n=34) pre B cell ALL, %24,4 (n=11) T cell ALL'dir. Puberte evresi incelendiğinde olguların %24,4'ü (n=11) prepubertal idi. Hastaların %2,2'si (n=1) bodur, %44,52'si (n=20) kısa, %8,9'u (n=4) çok zayıf ve %20'si (n=9) zayıftı. Çalışmamızda puberte durumu değerlendirilen hastaların hiç birinde puberte prekoks veya puberte tarda saptanmadı. Çalımamızda TSH >10 olan ve TSH 5-10 arası olan hastamız yoktu. Olguların %13,3'ü (n=6) osteoporotik, %44,4'ü (n=20) osteopenik %42,2'si (n=19) idi. Sonuç: ALL olgularında antropometrik ölçümler cinsiyetten, hastalık tipinden ve puberte evresinden bağımsız olarak olumsuz şekilde etkilenmektedir. Bu konuda düzenli izlem ile destekleyici tedavilerin sağlanması, ALL olgularında antopometrik değerleri daha iyi bir seviyeye getirebilir. Özellikle erkek ALL olgularında olmak üzere her iki cinsiyette de malnütrisyon gelişebileceği için beslenmenin düzeninin sağlanması önemlidir. Anahtar Kelimeler. Aim. In this study, it was aimed to retrospectively examine the endocrinological parameters of acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients who were followed up and whose treatment was completed in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Medical Faculty Pediatric Hematology Unit. Method. The study was conducted in Van Dursun Odabaşı Medical Center Hospital Pediatric Hematology Unit between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2019 with patients who were diagnosed with ALL and whose treatment was completed. Results. 51.1% (n = 23) of the cases were male, 48.9% (n = 22) were female, the mean age was 12.9 ± 4.0. When ALL type is examined, 75.6% (n = 34) is pre B cell ALL and 24.4% (n = 11) is T cell ALL. When stage of puberty is examined, 24.4% (n = 11) of the cases were prepubertal. Of the patients 2.2% (n = 1) were stunted, while 44.5% (n = 20) short, 8.9% (n = 4) very weak and 20% (n = 9) weak. When the puberty stage was evaluated, no cases of early or late puberty were detected. In our study, there were no patients with TSH> 10 and TSH between 5-10. 13.3% (n = 6) of the cases were osteoporotic and 44.4% (n = 20) were osteopenic. Conclusion. Anthropometric measurements are negatively affected in ALL cases regardless of gender, disease type and disease stage. Providing supportive treatments with regular follow-up can bring antopometric values to a better level in ALL cases. Since malnutrition can develop in both genders, especially in male ALL cases, it is important to maintain the regular diet. Keywords.
