Determination of Life Satisfaction, Stress and Compassion Levels of Individuals With Special Needs Parents and Investigation in Accordance With Their Opinions (mixed Methods Research)

Abstract

Sosyal bir varlık olan insanın ilk eğitim aldığı yerin aile, ilk model aldığı kişilerin ebeveynleri olduğu gerçeğine bakıldığında; anne ve babanın içinde bulundukları sosyal, duyuşsal, bedensel, bilişsel durumun çocuklarının duyuşsal, bilişsel, sosyal ve diğer gelişim alanlarını ne derece de etkileyebileceği hakkında önemi görülebilir. Bu çalışmada özel gereksinimleri olan ebeveyne sahip bireylerin yaşam doyumları, algılanan stresleri ve merhamet düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki analiz edilerek, bu durumlarının kendi görüşleri doğrultusunda incelenmesi amaçlanarak, karma araştırma desenlerinden açıklayıcı sıralı desen kullanılmıştır. Erzurum il sınırları içerisinde ikamet eden 300 özel gereksinimli ebeveyne sahip bireye YDÖ-ASÖ-MÖ uygulanarak ve aynı katılımcılar içerisinden rastgele seçilen 50 bireyle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kapsamında çalışmanın verileri toplanmıştır. Toplanan nicel veriler, düzenlenerek SPSS İstatistik Programı aracılığıyla analizleri (t-testi, ANOVA varyans analizi, Post-hoc Analizi, Korelasyon analizi) yapılmıştır. Nitel veriler ise nicel veri sonuçlarına göre hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla, uzman görüşü ve katılımcılar tarafından anlaşılırlık onayı alındıktan sonra toplanmaya başlanmış olup elde edilen verilerin tema ve alt temaları görüşler doğrultusunda oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmanın nicel bulguları arasında yaşam doyum, stres ve merhamet arasında korelasyonel olarak negatif yönlü anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Nicel ve nitel bulgular bir arada tartışılmış olup, elde edilen bulguların birbirlerini destekleyip desteklemedikleri açıklanarak ilgili literatürle tartışılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda özel gereksinimli ebeveyne sahip bireyler hakkında yapılan çalışmaların az olması sebep gösterilerek konu hakkında çalışmaların yapılması gibi önerilerde bulunulmuştur. In this study, an explanatory sequential design, one of the mixed research designs, was used to analyze the relationship between life satisfaction, perceived stress and compassion levels of individuals with parents with special needs, and to examine these situations in line with their own views. By applying YDÖ-ASÖ-MÖ to 292 individuals with parents with special needs residing in Erzurum province and the same participants. The data of the study were collected within the scope of semi-structured interview form with 50 randomly selected individuals. The collected quantitative data were arranged and analyzed (t-test, ANOVA analysis of variance, Post-hoc Analysis, Correlation analysis) using the SPSS Statistical Program. Qualitative data, on the other hand, started to be collected through the semi-structured interview form prepared according to the quantitative data results, after the expert opinion and the consent of the participants for intelligibility were obtained, and the themes and sub-themes of the obtained data were formed in line with the opinions. Among the quantitative findings of the study, negative correlations were found between life satisfaction, stress and compassion. Quantitative and qualitative findings were discussed separately, and it was also explained whether the findings obtained as a mixture supported each other under a single heading. At the end of the study, suggestions were made, such as conducting studies on the subject, due to the lack of studies on individuals with special needs parents.
