Abstract
This study was conducted to compare the effect of proprioceptive exercises applied to sedentary male individuals using 8-week BOSU, wobble board and balance disc equipment on dynamic balance, ankle and knee joint position sense. individuals consisting of 24 people with similar characteristics in the 14-16 age range were divided into 3 groups of 8 people each by random sampling method. These groups are defined as BOSU, wobble board and balance disc groups. Then, Y balance test for dynamic balance, ankle 20° and 30° plantar flexion for proprioception sense, knee joint 30°, 45° and 60° extension measurements were taken from these groups in pre-test measurements. Goniometer, Y balance test kit and digital inclinometer were used in the measurements. Then, these 3 groups were subjected to an 8 week proprioceptive exercise protocol 3 days a week with only one equipment in their own group. At the end of 8 weeks, the final test measurements were taken and data analysis was performed. SPSS 25 package program was used in the analysis of the data. Shapiro Wilks test was used when investigating the cases of variables coming from a normal distribution due to the number of units. When examining the differences between the groups, Kruskal Wallis H Test was used because the variables did not come from a normal distribution. Wilcoxon sign test was used to examine the differences between the dependent continuous variables. At the end of the data analysis, a significant difference was found in the dynamic balance, ankle and knee joint position sense of all groups. However, no significant differences were found among the groups.
